Decluttering our house really helped me get through it; having less stuff to deal with daily is priceless! When we had to move to a small flat instead it made the job a million times easier too. Clutterbug and How to GYST are 2 faves, along with She's in her Apron for batch/freezer meal ideas. My slow cooker is my bff these days 😂 Anywhere you can automate tasks, do it for your sanity. A good rule I had to start doing back when I had a roommate, that's continued now that I live without her is if I'm going to wash one dish or utensil or whatever to eat/drink with, I have to continue to wash until I can fill the dish dryer rack. Then I can take my dish and whatever food I was washing it for and leave the kitchen. Having this small rule has helped tremendously. Bc even when I slack, and it piles up, once I need a spoon or cup finally, I also will have other dishes for a bit. Sometimes I catch a second wind and fill a second rack (yes I have two). Any sort of progress is still progress! But this is a tidbit that helped me, personally.

Awww! Thank you Alexis! Your words fill my heart! I felt everything you said here. My toddler tornado comes behind me every time I clean one space. I literally have to sacrifice one room to clean another room just so he can stay busy so I can clean. It is very discouraging when that happens and when you have OCD like me It will drive ya nuts. I have learned to literally ignore it and feel the happiness in the space I am cleaning in that very moment and just deal with the other room later. So please know my whole house NEVER gets completely clean or organized. It's like a dog chasing his own tail! lol! But hey at least we are doing it! Right! I am definitely bringing decluttering and organizing videos. In fact tomorrow or worst case Sunday I will have my first organizing video up. Make sure you click that bell for ALL notifications and you will know each time I upload! I am so happy to know that being here is helping you and so many others. It is so hard and scary to put my real mess and mental health issues out there but I feel a higher calling to be here because I know it could help others like me. Something I love about this other than it being so relatable with the depression and anxiety is the fact that your home is not aesthetically perfect.. it’s not a Pinterest decor perfect home and it makes it so much more relatable. I love that it’s so true to most people’s real life and it’s great. Working hard to power through your mental illnesses and still living a full and productive life is so important and great. But always remember to give yourself grace. You don’t have to always have it together and have everything perfect. You’re enough as you are and so is everything else.

Dear Mamas, I can see that you are very optimistic. It is a very important ingredient in the recipe! It is the ingredient you contribute with, it is your disposition. However, I believe that the most important ingredient, so that this “meal” is full of flavor and also healthy for everybody, the one ingredient that gives full consistency to everything is missing.here. At least I have not seen the word God around. Dear Mamas, without Faith we have no power to change anything! Yes We have some “power” but it is a gift, it comes from God. Just because He wanted to give it to us… and it is the power to call out to God! To invoke to Him through prayer,! to offer Him our deeds and sorrows and to hope that He will see us with mercy! And He will…He will do it!!! Talk to Him on a daily basis, He is the Light that will shine in your darkness. He set me free! Dear God, I pray for this women, you are God you are our father, that is why you love us more than nobody else can! Dear and mighty God, I beg you, listen to my prayer. We are not worthy, yes, but you are a merciful God!! Help them find you and give them the grace to live a life full of joy and peace! The real joy, the real peace! the joy and peace that are yours, the ones that you give to your children!!! Holy Mother of God, tell your Son about these daughters of yours. Amen.

I am SO glad you posted this, especially the part about "cleaning what you're in the mood to." I saw another video that expressed POP... Progress Over Perfection, as well as "A done something is better than a perfect nothing!" I've also discovered that I avoid certain rooms that have gotten cluttered until I can't take it anymore, and break down and spend the whole day, (or night, as that's when I'm most active) working in it. I say I have to do what I can, when I can, as I can. Just wanna say, keep it up, and you got this. I'm also glad you recorded the beginning, so you can have a satisfying before and after. Kudos!

I relate so much to this... I'm also a perfectionist, and my apartment used to be spotless until a couple of years ago. Since 2019, I have been getting worse, 2020 was the worst for me, I had piles of trash everywhere around my home, piles of dirty laundry... In fact, I still have a couple of coats and dresses that need to be washed since late 2019, but I'm working on it. At least now I can see most of my floor, and while my home is not spotless, is way better than it was a year ago. I hope that by at least August 2021 I can finally finish cleaning all the mess.

I will definitely be doing a laundry motivation video too! It's horrible! Each time I start to cut the pile down my toddler pees somewhere in the house and I accumulate more wet towels from cleaning the pee and the soiled sheets and blankets from the bed or pillows and then they take priority in the washer and so my existing piles never seem to make it in the washer! And this vicious cycle repeats itself all over again! But I am so determined to get this stuff done and I am so happy you found me here! This is real life right here. No shame needed. I was THERE. I started by taking care of the three D's each day- dinner, dishes, and duds (laundry). When I could tackle that, I started to declutter. Now we're minimalist and it's kept my anxiety and depression away. I got rid of one Walmart plastic bag each day. Eventually, it became so addictive and theraputic.

Completely understand you. When your a perfectionist you don't see a point in doing something if you can't do it all. I'm working on reminding myself just because I can't clean the entire bathroom today its still just worth wiping down the sink and toilet rather than feeling like no I'll just wait until tomorrow when I can clean the whole room. I am one of them that if I can't clean the whole house, wash the sheets and everything in one day then I've not cleaned enough and then I get overwhelmed and de-motivated. I'm realising a bit each day is enough. I don't have to top to bottom clean everyday! Nothing bad will happen and slowly but surely I get my house back on track. And it is staying cleaner now than before when I had the mind set of if I can't do it all there's no point starting. Sending you love from the UK! So glad I found your channel. Xx

I just found you today and this sums up my current lifestyle . I’ve been diagnosed with GAD and MDD which is major depressive disorder . I also have some other health issues that played peekaboo the past year so I’ve been dealing with those as well as my 4 year old who has short bowel syndrome and needs a lot and she also has behavioral problems plus a sensory disorder . I am going to be binge watching this series on your channel to get some motivation because my life is out of control . Every aspect of it . I have OCD as well so doing simple house chores is really hard sometimes especially living in a 1200sqft house with 4 of us and we have sooo much stuff we don’t need lol I’m trying to downsize as well as cleaning things up and getting things back in order but so much easier said then done . I just want to thank you for bringing all of us along in your journey and showing it’s okay for things to get out of control nobody is perfect !

Hi Skyler! Thanks so much for hanging out with me! I totally understand everything you are saying and how you feel. I too felt that strongly when I had my second child. Homemaking was so challenging have a newborn and a toddler with Autism. And my husband was pushed to the back of the list for sure! lol! I want you to know that realizing how you feel is the best start to making change. Instead of sulking in that feeling which is exactly what I did for many many months. I realized it was up to me to make the change and no one else was going to do it for me. I had to just start small and start creating those daily habits which is easier said then done. But just start by doing one thing different that will make you feel like a better homemaker, wife and mom. I started by making sure I actually cook dinner every night. I used to order out alot because I didnt have the energy to cook. This made me feel like a horrible mom and wife because my husband and son were always eating crap. And it was expensive too so our budget was hurting. I started by making frozen meals with something fresh on the side. Start by Home Run Inn pizzas which have no preservatives and use real cheese so winning there! And simple side salad. Get the bags if thats easier and cut up some cucumber and toss it in. At least your family is eating veggies and your not breaking the bank. Then I moved into fish filets. Gordon fishermens whole cuts not minced crap! with salad on the side or canned grean beans and tater tots. Start by doing this and you will get used to being in the kitchen then you can get more fancy and creative over time. As for homemaking. Go to bed every night with a clean kitchen! My bestie Ellie taught me this and girl it makes all the difference in your mornings and your days! I know this can be the biggest challenge because we wiped out after dinner but drink a cup of black tea for some caffeine boost and get it done! It doesnt have to be perfect! Just clean empty sink and clear wiped counters. Do the drip dry overnight for your pots and pans! Try these two things every day if that's the only thing you do and I promise it will change your life and your self esteem tremendously! It will also motivate you to do more and you will be rocking that shit Mama! Believe me if I can do it so can you!! I will add you to my prayer list! God Bless and stay Mighty! xo

I have anxiety and depression - no kids, 8 miscarriages - and thank you for showing your truth aka. the messes everywhere. I got up, and took a minute to write this, and I’m cleaning my kitchen with you, and other places and if that means I’ll be watching this video ALL DAY then so be it. I always say, once you just GET STARTED on something, once you’re done I start thinking “it didn’t take long at all” and it’s so satisfying to live in a clean environment. I just told my kids... I wish they had these videos when my kids were little and I was going through the bends (all the depression/anxiety/suicidal thoughts). So nice to see so many supportive people on the internet for those of us who go through this. Too often immediate family and friends offer no empathy or understanding. Offering only judgment and ridicule. If this was you, just know you are doing great. No matter what others think. You're doing great, your here right? That is what is really important, not a spotless house.

I understand. My house is a wreck. On a regular basis I do dishes, laundry, yardwork and in last 10 years cooking. Mostly nothing else ever gets caught up or started. 2020 didn't help. Oddly I found that chopping vegetables and cooking to be relaxing. Mowing, dishes, laundry don't take decisions and have good results. I know few people that have a mess like mine, but if you read comments, there are. Yeah, do a few dishes by hand, do a load of laundry. Do a few more dishes, put a few things away. Chin up and keep busy. Any housework accomplished is good.
