Thanks for sharing this. I’m actually using the bore snake system. And it’s a delight to use versus the older way of long rod. 👍

You are indeed a connoisseur of rimfire usage and maintenance . Have used boresnakes for as long as I can remember . I do agree that snakes do a fine job of keeping bores clean . Be sure to watch the brushes , as they can scratch a wood or finely blued surface on the outside of the receiver . Good luck on your deer hunt . Ohio Gun Season was rough . Cold , extremely windy , and I saw few deer . Finally "settled" on a spike for the freezer . It was fat and full of soybeans . Should be tender and tasty . Will go back out for muzzleloader .

I have been using the Bore Snake system for several years now. I have one for every caliber and gauge. I was recently gifted a Model 63 Winchester with lots of surface rust. The bore after several pulls of the bore snake it looks new.

I have older type Bore Snakes and keep them in plastic baggies in my range box. I clean centerfire rifles after every 5 shots and rimfires every couple hundred. They all function flawlessly and shoot very accurately. I give things a thorough cleaning when I get home. The Bore Snakes are easily cleaned by laying them on a board and spraying with Gun Scrubber or brake cleaner and wipe off with a paper towel. Ive had mine for years and they still work just fine.

I have heard that the Bore Snake provides 60 times the contact in the bore as opposed to patches. I’ve used them for years. They really do get the job done where you can’t clean with a rod from the breech end.

Do think I'm going to pick one of these up next time I wander through the cleaning supplies isle. The segmented rods with the threaded bits and pieces and patches, they work, but it just seems a lot more messy and complicated than it has to be.

Hi nice video how do you clean the boar snake? I use the patch worm method on a heavy nylon cord and I pull cotton patches coated with balistol.

I dont used them exclusive. I still rely upon a conventional rod brush and jag. But I also have snakes for most every caliber. A snake always resides in my 22 target pistol box! Good video! ❤

A good cleaning rod is still the best tool for cleaning the bore but usually it's difficult to use on semi-auto guns and some others. A Bore Snake is quite a handy tool to have to help keep a rifle bore clean.

Thanks for showing the rubber band trick. How long will bore snack last knowing patches need changed with cleaning rod. I have a Remington pull thru Squeeg-E Universal Gun Cleaning System . Works similarly wonder if you have tried one or had a opinion on. Thanks great video keep them coming.

Thanks for all your informative videos… I’ve learned a great deal. I’ve been using bore snakes of different brands for many years. What’s the best way to wash them. Or are they considered expendable after many uses? Because eventually the brushes in them ware out. I’ve never washed them I use them for a few years 100 times let’s say and get a new one. Any thoughts about cleaning a bore snake? Thanks in advance

Good video bore snake is much better good idea with the rubber band as i have 1967 model 60 no lockback. Maybe a small bungee cord would do as well if rubber band breaks it could be very painful.O shizzit lol.

You can clean them when needed by putting them in an old sock then thru the clothes washer. Just don't mention it to your wife. :-] Just kidding.
