    Great video. I like the tip about alternating covers, I think that's a great idea and I'm going to start doing that. I actually have a ASM 299 in the press ready for round 2, gonna switch to the opposite cover. Thanks and keep up the great work!

    Would you recommend cleaning and pressing a dirty comic that has been signed? One signature was with a ballpoint pen, and the other signature was with a Sharpie.

  • @hobbyhero6973

    @hobbyhero6973

    Yes but just be mindful how you treat the area around the sharpie signature

    The way you showed concerned for the interior I was expecting you were going to discover that the Marvel Value Stamp was cut out and not indicated on the label.

    Do you take the staples out of the book to process the pages and cover? How is this done? How do you reattach the book? Do you use the same staples? Is this restoration?

  • @hobbyhero6973

    @hobbyhero6973

    Жыл бұрын

    I do take staples out. I have a flat metal tool to bend them open so they can be removed and reuse the same staples. That is not considered restoration but if you replace staples and they can tell they will flag it as restoration

    How long do you let your book sit before removing the overlay? Fresh off the press and still warm or cool to room temp in the press?

    @@hobbyhero6973 so I just completed my first attempt of using the HOP and the double HOP, and it's AMAZING how much gunk/yellowing I'm pulling off my books. Your videos have been incredibly helpful in making sure I'm taking the proper steps. I'm also trying to pull a letter written in blue ballpoint pen off the cover of a comic now, I'm about to try the HOP method to pull that off. Got any suggestions?

    @@bobsmith1520 glad they are helping! Pen is usually permanent. If it’s all in white you can sometimes make improvements on it but it’s pretty hard on the paper.
