This is the first in a video series called "Sound Check" where I take a look at the Matchless 30/15 Reverb - designed by Phil Jamieson in 2010..
This amp has an incredible and unique voice, with a character all of it's own.
Is Matchless the king of EL84 Amps and is this most inspiring clean channel ever made?

I don’t think it’s the clean channel of the C30

Hi Dave, thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. You're absolutely right. When I was buying the amp prior to making the video - I was told that the 30/15 was essentially the clean channel of the C30. However, Phill Jamieson kindly watched the video, and then emailed me clarified that the 30/15 was a later circuit that he had designed in 2010. he also mentioned that "The C30 Ch1 is a top boost style circuit with two 12AX7’s and a Bass and Treble Control. Ch2 is the EF86 circuit that has a rotary tone switch for an eq sweep." I absolutely love my Matchless - to this day, I'm still excited everytime I play through it!
