Clean your Burnt Glass Hob: Hob Scraper Razor + this Homemade Cleaning Solution for Stove Tops

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Figured out how to remove the annoying burn marks on any glass hob :). This method works for any glass stovetop (vitroceramic electric cooking top, induction cooker).
You need to get your hands on a glass scraper (hob razor). The blade is very sharp, so use it cautiously. Using a scraper for the most difficult burnt stuff is the most efficient hob cleaning method I know.
To soften the burn marks and to make the job easier for the stove top scraper, make a homemade cleaning solution with baking soda, dishwashing liquid and hot water. You can use any dishwashing liquid detergent, not just Dawn :)
Follow the step by step method described in the video to learn the way to clean your ceramic or induction stove top, without damaging or scratching it.
It worked for my electric cooktop, which I have not cleaned for a while, just to show you guys how you can give your glass hob a deep clean.
Let me know how it went for you :)

I was concerned the scraper would scratch the surface, and happy to say it definitely doesn’t. What an easy solution to 8 years of buildup on our cooktop. Thank you!

Thank a lot for this. Especially highlighting the scraper part. I don't know why I never thought of using glass scrapers that are used on windows, etc. But then I guess many haven't, hence they marketed the same thing as a cooktop scraper.

Thank you so much for your video. I didn't have a glass scraper so used a abrasive sponge instead. It took some time but very happy with the end result. I didn't think it was possible to get those marks of my stovetop.

The razor blade can scratch the glass. the steel is much harder than the glass. You may not have any problem 99% of the time but when you do the scratch is permanent. Much better to spray the glass and let the material soften up before removing with a plastic razor blade. These blades come in three colors: the color indicates how hard the plastic edge is. If you clean stainless steel cooktops you cannot use any scrapers of any kind without getting scratches. The soak method is the clear winner for scratch free gentle wiping off softened burned on stains. Glass is much easier.

Hi Bruce sorry I missed your comment. You are right with the steel. Don't use the blade on the steel. Only for glass. I never had scratched the glass with the scraper with the above method. Cheers!

It happened to me once. I think I let it soak in boiling water and dish detergent. Maybe add hot water two times to make sure the sticky thing has softened. Then try with the glass scraper. It should do the job. Let me know.
