My cooktop is used everyday. It is a glass one like yours. Everyday after I cook I clean my stove with Windex (ammonia cuts grease) and a dishwashing scrub pad. I then dry it to a smooth shine with paper towels. Once a week I clean it and polish it with the white paste cleaner you used first. It makes my stove look almost as good a new. You must maintain a stove top to keep it looking good.

I cannot tolerate those smells and bleach while it kills gers can eat your clothes I found the new spray Dawn did such a wonderful job polishing my black glass stove top that I no longer buy that white polishing paste I wipe it with hot water on a cotton cleaning rag, scrape any stuck on food with the scraper blade , dry it and it is done

The Cer -A-ma -brite (for "ceramic" not "sermuh" ) is supposed to be used without water - it is a fine abrasive that is scrubbed with a dry cloth or paper towel to clean and buff like a paste car wax does. It wipes clean. Works on mine unless I let it build up. I have also used a razor blade for smal areas, then finished with Ceramabrite. 👍

For a fair test, you should have segmented the bad burner in pieces and tried the different products on a quarter of that burner. What you were doing now is working some of the dirt off without a fair test for the others.

The key to keeping a glass top stove clean and shiny is to clean every time you use it. Sometimes it just needs a wipe off. If a pot boils over, move it to another burner and clean as soon as it cools off. Use the white cleaner polish with a dry towel or paper towels. It leaves a protective coating. The worst stains are caused when frying when the oil it grease burns onto burner. If cleaned using a razor blade scraper after cooking you can keep it looking good. I learned to wipe stove around my fry pan as I cook. If I pour out the grease u wipe the side of the pan either a wet cloth before putting back on stove. My stove is 20 years old and still looks almost new. Now you have yours clean and shiny, get a routine and keep to it. Loved your video.

Agree to everything in this comment. Clean up right away, do NOT cook on a dirty burner, cerambrite is great for polishing and finish cleaning AFTER using other methods. It is mainly a mild abrasive, not a cleaner per se, so letting it sit does little. Another abrasive that works well is cream of tartar. My general cleaning involves using a vileda glass top sponge. Mild abrasive on one side, polished on other.

I do love the way my glass top stove performs. That being said, I detest the cleanup. Thirty minutes after every use will eventually lead to a serious cleaning about once a month because slowly something resembling baked on carbon will build up in spots. Grrrr I should add, I’m very careful with my cookware. After three years I have no scratches. And as an aside, the baking soda was meant to be a scrub as it’s mildly abrasive, not just let it sit and then wipe it off.

Yes! 100% agree. My new one is constantly dirty and I clean it off every time I use it. It doesn’t compare at all to my old glass top. If I spilled something that burnt on the old one, elbow grease and cleaner was all it took, possible a razor blade if it was super bad. This new one, everything makes it look dirty all the time. Finger prints even get all over it because it is all black. My old one had little white dots all over it except on the burners. The new one cooks way better but just looks dirty. 😊

It helps if overflow gets cleaned up asap. Also metal bottom pans and shaking them like you might on a gas stove is a no no for glass tops. It is also wise to clean down glass tops according to use. Right after done cooking and doing dishes the glass tops are part of routine cleaning. The “ceramic bright” ,or similar, use at least every 2 weeks as it polishes the surface.

I have removed crusted burn on the stove top by simply putting comet and then a wet dishcloth on top and let it sit and soak for 15-20 minutes. That has worked for me rather than using baking soda and vinegar which didn't do any better than my water letting it soak to soften the Krusty burn on.

Early on after getting this type of glass top stove, the front right burner, like yours, which is used the most, became discolored and scratched, leaving a silvery finish on the glass. No amount of product, scrubbing or using a razor blade would remove it. The heavy silver cooking fry pan damaged the surface. Using the ultra fine grit of 800-1200 grit, seems to be my best option to try and so I thank you for that, because I have not heard of doing that. I do wonder about the products mentioned here in the comments about a scratch remover for cars. Thanks for sharing this process. 😊

Body shop painters use wet sandpaper on automobile paint jobs, but as you said, it's a very, very fine grade. Normally only a diamond will scratch glass, so a very fine grit of sandpaper used with copious amounts of water shouldn't scratch a glass stove top.

If you put a wet wash cloth on scold burner overnight most of the dirt will come up along with using a new razor blade. I got some of my scratches off with a product to remove windshield scratches - airplane scratch remover is best

Spray the top with Dawn Powerwash. Leave it sit for a few minutes. Get a NEW one-sided straight razor blade ( hardware section at store) gently use the straight blade to scrape the surface. Hold the blade securely in one hand. Keep the blade's sharp edge at a slight inclined angle. Then wipe clean. I got off everything that was burned or overflowed white marks . The surface of my stove is completely smooth without any raised surfaces. I had previously tried other methods without complete success.

Leaving the Cerama brite on doesn't help. It is slightly abrasive, like baking soda or fine sandpaper and works by scrubbing action. None of these products will "remove" scratches, it is glass after all, but it does polish the surface. Daily cleaning of spills, even water spills, is the best prevention.❤

The other products probably would work but you really didn't scrub anything you just wiped it on & wiped it off the sand paper worked because it has a grit & doesn't need much pressure to work

I always warm my cooktop up before cleaning with cerama bryte , it works really great on a warm surface. A medium heat, not that hot that it dries the cream or burns your hand. Try it. I use it the same way on the sole plate of my iron if someone uses too high a heat and stains it.

I think if you try Weimans cream and a razor blade, more will come off. There seems to be a desolving agent in Wegmans that really works well. I used that on the inside glass of my stove and it took the "film" off. I had to work at it twice. I also use it on my shower door!
