Clean a Greasy Kitchen Rangehood Exhaust Fan - DIY
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I take you through the entire process of cleaning my disgusting kitchen rangehood which had 20 years of grease build up. All I needed was some basic hand tools and cleaning products (and a dishwasher).
Revive your old appliances to keep them out of landfill and save money.

Best breakdown and demo on the internet👍🏽Sub'd as a result. Thank you. Did mine yesterday and will redo again in 3 months. Will do a full switch clean this time as per your demo👍🏽
Awesome video on this subject. Yours is the only one I found that went in depth!..bravisimo! And ty..
Well done I do not know why the hell I watched it but I am impressed with your determination to get it done.
Absolutely brilliant video. Doesn't get enough credit on here this. No one else is doing this. Top job. I'm doing mine tomorrow

Thank you. How did it go?
Best video of the bunch. Yeah, gloves are a must. Our fan had 65+ years of grease and grime and it took awhile to get it out. We used dish soap and hot water and scrubbed it for quite awhile. No way were we putting it in the dishwasher ... it was way to greasy. The motor was shot so we ordered a new one. Cleaning was awful but reassembly should be fairly straightforward.

Thanks for watching. Appreciate the support.
This is great! I have just acquired a filthy second-hand Fisher & Paykel rangehood of a similar age, and the fan assembly has some similarities to yours. The motor itself looks basically the same. Watching this disassembly and cleaning process gives me the confidence to try it myself.

Make sure to take photos along the way so you know how to put it back together.

Haha yeah, it's mostly straight forward, but I had to desolder the wires to get the motor out of the housing so I do have a photo of that. Everything's now in pieces and cleaning up nice.
Excellent video, I enjoyed it You must have lots of patience 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I wish i’d dare to do this!

The worst you can do is break it!
great job!
Great video. One suggestion, don’t use the eco walk for these items as the water won’t get hot enough to remove all the gunk.
You are awesome🎉
wow i need you to supervise me please 😃 i admire you a lot !

Just remember if anyone asks. I didn't watch this video and I dont know what happened to the fan.
nice, but I would recommend getting a more modem range hood so the cleaner will be a breeze and save you a lot of time and money down the road.

Or existing rangehood basically requires you to take the whole thing a part and reseal everything. If not fast forwarding, this probably took more like 2 to 3 hr from start to finish. A modern range hood probably takes 5 to 10 mins to take ofd the fan and do a deep clean
