Man im so glad i found this video. My wife and I are thinking of swapping in a 5.3 or 6.0 but was thinking of the 5.3 since I aready one in my garage. I had a 1990 k2500 light duty with the 14 bolt semi gloat. We definitely want to keep the patina so finding this video definitely makes me want to do the swap. I'm very good with wiring so watching this helps.

Wilwood (little shop mfg) makes a front/rear setup for around 1000.00 with the help of little shop mfg..

What is the part number of the proportion valve and what else was needed for the abs delete

91 chevy silverado was my first truck.. Love the obs body and looked for years for the 2 door tahoe.. Finally found a completely straight 95 2d yukon 4wd out of the desert so 0 rust issues. Has the 5.7 thats still goin strong. Love driving the thing but having issues w the 4L60E trans. She revs at high rpm shifting out of 1st. It may be skipping 2nd and going 1-3. I can feather the pedal and it seems to help. I was told to do the vette servo swap on the trans.. Apparently its a known issue on this trans?

Yes I have heard alot of people upgrading the servo. My opinion is that would be a upgrade to do when complete rebuilding the 4l60e. The high revs most likely indicate worn clutch packs in the trans. I do not think servo upgrade alone will solve your current issues.

Doing the same thing" 93 4×4 it's a 6.0 4l80e 241c all done except the wiring, after watching many videos on the wiring, starting to think I'd be better off spending the money on a Holley Terminator X, because. When this guy switches to a 4 L 80 he's going back to the tuner when he puts a turbo on he's going back to the tuner if he changed the cam he's going back to the tuner he changes the intake he's going back to the tuner gear ratio tire size... not to mention the Halo unit has to offer with power adders. I just need to figure out the gauges and the AC? Damn I hate wiring

This truck is awesome. I am doing this on my 96 Yukon. Where is the ECU located? It is so clean under the hood. Where is the coolant expansion tank?

Kelvinbellrose, the ls pcm is located behind the glove box in the original pcm location. I modified the original mounting pad to accept the newer pcm. And for the coolant expansion tank it is located on the radiator core support under the battery tray.

I have a 92 k2500 with a good 4l60e. I was wondering if a 5.3 would work with it. Will an LS PCM control an older 4l60e? At most I'd put a cam in it. It would be nice not to have to touch the drivetrain.

332ARA, I do not believe the older 4l60e transmissions will work with the newer LS pcms. This truck had a 4l60e as well and what I ran into was the transmission connector on the Ls harness has alot more pins than the older 4l60e connector . Also the connectors themselves are different in shape and design. I think he best route if you really want to keep the original 4l60e would be to look into a standalone transmission controller.

how long you running that 4L60E? I'm about to do a LQ9 swap on my 98 K1500 extended cab and dont wanna splurge on a 4l80E right away

Hey Kyle, I have had the 4l60e in for about almost two years now. If you get a feel for the Shift points and just don't hammer them to death it will hold up for a while. Modest driving it does well. Stay tuned going to be addressing my transmission soon.

Do you have a part number of converter and flexplate?

I do not have the p/n for the flex plate or to converter, but it is the factory flex plate that came with the LQ9 out of the 2005 Silverado ss. The torque converter is factory from 04 chevy Tahoe 4L60e. The stall for the torque convertor is not ideal for the engine, but it has good drivebility for now. New cam and torque convertor coming shortly. I'll be sure to throw in some P/Ns in the next video. Thanks for watching.

Yes it would work. Changing from auto to manual trans is something you can change with a program like hp tuners if you are going to use a factory ecu out of doner vehicle. For my LS HP tuner requires 2 credits to access the ecm. Each credit is 50$ . Or if you live in the Ohio area we can help you out. Streetfabperformance@gmail.com
