They are also terrible for cooling. Intake fans blow straight into a tempered glass panel, causing turbulent flow. And, as I know from my formal aviation training, this is no way to get good cooling performance. I just built in a mesh case - AP 201 - and I'm thinking tempered glass is so last decade. You can still show off if you turn on the lights. The fishtank cases are like the ultimate evolution of the fin on 1950s cars. They rose to epic proportions over the course of a few years and then just went extinct, almost overnight. Hell, my main PC looks almost retro at this point, being in a Zalman S2 TG, looking like 2016 wants their PC case back. But it has last gen hardware in it. At least the original iteration of the glass panel case had more or less straight through airflow. Intake in the front, exhaust in the back and top. This is literally how the first HAF case worked.

12:17 watching this because I am considering the case. I want to say, why so many installs I have watched of various cases or boards etc, majority do this, do not remove the PCI slot before installing the MB. Then, worry about when removing the slot that it may damage the MB. If you show that part, will be interesting to see how you handle that.

Thoughts on replacing the Ryzen 5 5500 with a Ryzen 5 3600, depending on the price at the time? I mean, I think they perform basically the same, and both have the same upgrade path. I'd just argue that the 5500 has better RAM headroom.

if your power supply can power a gpu then that would prob be the best move if you don’t have one. but if it doesn’t i have seen online that you can put normal atx power supplies in office machines. only issue is the office machines dont usually use 24pin for the motherboard so you have to buy a connector. i know dell optiplexs use 8pin to 24pin connectors if you add a new power supply. and there’s always ram if you are at 8gb. 16 seems to be the bare minimum for games now ☹️

I have one PC posted that's built with a lian li case, R7 3700x CPU, gtx 1660 Super, 550w msi psu, 1tb nvme storage, 16gb ddr4 storage, and sleeved cables for only $580 with an activated windows 11 install and its all new parts besides the mobo, cpu, and gpu and its been posted for over a month and no one is interested. Ive had a bunch of views and saves on it but like zero messages, and its already been dropped in price a couple times. Its a weird market right now

Nice, now just replace that 1660 with a 3060 12 gig and you have yourself a solid PC to play at High or Ultra settings.
