damn, if this was 1996-1998, that means mayer had only been playing guitar for around like 6 years at this point, what speed of progress

🤯 this is unreal to finally see footage of after obsessing over the audio track all these last 20 years.

I was probably 6 or 7 at this time. I was actually living in Atlanta with my Dad after my folks divorced. To think I was within driving distance of possibly my biggest musical influence.

Pretty sure this is the only video recording of Lifelines. WOW. (If anyone else knows of one please link me because I’ve never seen it!) Bonus points for Patrick Swayze. 😆

Wayyyyy underappreciated treasure on the web for fans of Mayer history!! Couple of questions: 1. Did you know John and/or Clay? 2. What do you know about their split? Thank you so much!!

@@thomaskoury5748 John talked about this on the 2017 Bobby Bones interview, basically they each got big heads at that point of time and being a duo just doesnt work. well, atleast that's john's POV but they're on good terms now! Mayer joined as guest guitar player on Zac Brown Band (Clay is a member there) on lots of occasions

Dude I’ve always been curious, how soon did John develop a crazy local fan base in Atlanta? And how did it happen? I know they broke up as Lo fi masters then he went solo. Did that take a while or he literally started selling out shows immediately? Sorry for all the questions but this is good man. Lol

pretty sure it took a little while, he's talked about playing to only a handful of people in coffee shops and having to compete with the sounds of the coffee maker. lol
Do you have the tape of '' NEON ''?
is it me or has the audio shifted to just the left side? Was fine the first time I watched it :(
