Harvard had been contacted by the New York Post in October 2023 for comment on a planned story about 27 "possible examples of plagiarism", and called the Post's allegations "demonstrably false", threatening to sue the newspaper for libel.[52] In response, Gay said she stood behind the integrity of her work and requested an outside review of it.[53][52] The Harvard Corporation reported that the review found "a few instances of inadequate citation" in her work, but "no violation of Harvard's standards for research misconduct."

Well, it's not really plagiarism; it's "inadvertent failure to attribute the thoughts and wording to the original author." You know, like it's not really larceny; it's "inadvertent failure to remember to pay for an item." And it's not really breaking and entering; it's "inadvertent failure to secure permission to enter and remove possessions." And it's not really murder; it's "inadvertent failure to remove the means that cause a person's life to end." I suspect that the 2024 elections will be not really election fraud, but rather "failure to ensure that both sides enjoy correct vote tallies." See, she's clearly innocent; it's just that the Harvard Board "inadvertently failed to suborn commonplace publishing and sloppy research errors." And fired her ass. You know, it's commonplace; the Chinese have been "inadvertently failing to pay royalties on intellectual property and patents by others" - for generations.

Let me see if I understand this correctly; we stand behind the rule of law and standards of behavior for everyone - but if the accused is black, in particular a black woman, she is immune from the consequences of her actions because . . . And any prosecution is automatically converted to a persecution, and that any accusation of any kind, for any crime or misbehavior is ALWAYS racist if it is directed against a black person, and therefore invalid. Is that about right, these days? And yet we still blather on about WHITE privilege?

It is women like this who undermine ALL women who got there on merit. Harvard is a place where talent, nothing else, comes to flourish and develop and those involved in her selection should also resign because not only have they besmirched all women in the workplace by bending the knee to the DEI cult they have made every employer worth their salt look at Harvard and wonder whether they are getting talent or a diversity pick, they have ruined Harvard and they are insulting the integrity of genuinely talented women everywhere.' .... I ask this as a white male who earned his PhD the old fashioned way, with lots of perspiration. If the allegations came during her PhD, then perhaps that needs to go as well. The Board of Harvard may have had good intentions in selecting her, but she was the wrong person and her being forced out is a triumph for Integrity and accountability. The Board needs to examine it’s vetting process for candidates for senior positions and frankly it should be an external process so that there is no question regarding the investigation . It is only a Black /Gender issue for apologists who do not want to admit she is the wrong person for them to defend. She failed at all levels of accountability and integrity. She stained the reputation of the University by failing to clearly condemn anti- Semitism (substitute in LBGT or any Visible Minority and see how it plays) and effectively condoned it by trying to rationalize the use of such hate language, She engaged in Plagiarizing and then she wanted a pass for the same actions that would earn any student (black, white, Asian et al) an expulsion. In addition, she failed the test we expect everyone, including teenagers, to meet - taking accountability. Be honest - we would expect better from a Harvard Freshman let alone the President.

Plagiarizing is wrong, and to let someone pass because they are a certain gender or color would be wrong too. Accept the consequences of your previous actions.

Lol on the peer review lecture by Ms Ford, that's another issue of rot in academia, Most of this research especially in the soft sciences just does not get peer reviewed, it's just not happening. Oh sure, people will sign their names to others research but that's free credit. A good example is Francesca Gino also of Harvard University has been caught for data manipulation ie, making the thesis work by moving the numbers around. No one reviewed her work until she was exposed by fellow academics (which paradoxically is peer review) She is on unpaid leave last I read which is where Gay should be right now. Ms Ford has that smug fake smile.

She shouldn't be trying to defend someone who gave very wishy washy answers when asked about what was happening to Jewish students at the University, and then was caught plagiarising....I'm confused why does this women keep going on and on and on and on about diversity and inclusion. I know it's an important point but she isn't saying anything new that most people don't already know...she sounds like she is rambling about inclusion because she doesn't want to answer any questions.

There is very little new in sociology and behavioural psychology. The standard social science model of human behavior, based as Freudian psychosexual confabulation has been debunked. As such piblication is this area have little scientific utility. Social science is based upon precedent and not predictive of the future. The root crime is the exposure of the poor quality of graduate degrees from Harvard despite the high tuition costs.
