Why? Anyone who ever served in the US Navy knows that this was nothing. My ship dumped TONS of trash three every single day. And dumped sewage from 5000 crew all day everyday. That's not to mention all the aircraft fuel and ship fuel dumped and leaked all the time. I have seen trash piled so high on aft decks that it took 5 hours for 4 crew members to toss it overboard. The trash floated behind us for 20 miles. That's just a single ship. We had 20+ ships in our convoy.

He wasn't on that boat. He and the reporter both said he was on a different boat following the one that dumped the trash. He said he was telling the people on the boat he was on, to make sure to dump their trash into the trash. But I think he was lying for the camera, and they would have or already have done it themselves. Like he said, he thinks it's not a big deal. Also, he needs to lay off the weed before a camera interview.

Who raised them? Probably people from your generation who didn't and still don't care about the environment either. Grow up some more, the issue lies in individuals not being educated rather than a generational issue. If anything younger people other than these rich spoiled ones know better because they're the ones who will have to deal with the consequence of the past generations destroying the planet.

Young man, an excuse is a statement to alleviate yourself of responsibility.

Entitled rich kids who will not be held responsible for their actions.

Rich parents.. kids will just get a slap on the wrist parents will pay the fine and the kids will continue the bad behavior .

_"Florida is filled with trash."_ 😡 Florida is filled with good people who are constantly going out and picking up the trash and trying to keep it clean. If some (explicitive) people didn't think it was okay, then the trash wouldn't be there. I sure hope that kid gets a lesson on Florida's natural ecosystems and why it's important that we keep them clean.

The kid that said trash is everywhere in Florida, sees trash every time he looks in the mirror.

The brats had better be charged.

Teens seem to not even care if they live or die today. They have Zero concerns about anyone else or anything else besides their own enjoyment. It is really really sad and disturbing.

i will say, i dont think any teen in history cared if they lived or died i mean look at the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Drugs galore

Anyone who ever served in the US Navy knows that this was nothing. My ship dumped TONS of trash three every single day. And dumped sewage from 5000 crew all day everyday. That's not to mention all the aircraft fuel and ship fuel dumped and leaked all the time. I have seen trash piled so high on aft decks that it took 5 hours for 4 crew members to toss it overboard. The trash floated behind us for 20 miles. That's just a single ship. We had 20+ ships in our convoy.

Prison and 20 thousand hours of community service!!!!

Who was operating the boat and were they qualified to do so!? This is one case where the parents, or at least the boat owner, should definitely be held accountable! Young, entitled, puncs! 🤬

Also was the operator insured to be operating the boat? The boat owners insurance carrier may want to review their policy, might be time to cancel the boat owners policy. This is the kind of ahole behavior the drives up responsible boat owners insurance rates. As a lifelong boat owner and licensed captain this kind of screw every body else attitude really P's me off. They should be banned from ever being on and/or ever operating a boat again .

Oh that's so sad. You mean to say they're actually suffering consequences for their actions? What a shame...

I was mad about them dumping their trash into the ocean but when that kid said “It’s Florida, there’s trash everywhere” I realized it’s ok after all.

You want to be treated like adults, expect adult rules to be applied.

Jail is not the only way a person (kid) can be punished.🧐

They need to contact the young man who was interviewed parents and Investigate them for not educating their child that dumping garbage into the ocean is not only a crime but wrong.
