Alright! Thank you for the recommendations
I think Departures is one of his best works, highly recommended.

Ok, I'll check it out, thanks!
At 5:30 it’s actually really tough, because the arpeggios are awkward because of the added note and the arpeggios going down are actually different and varied so switching hand positions to suit the new arpeggios going down and keeping the tempo consistent with the left hand while allocating so much brainpower to the right hand was incredibly tough for me. My piano teacher thought it was the 2nd toughest part of the song.

Animenz also articulates some notes (which I think is the same in every octave) while going up and down. Adds to the difficulty.

@@eddie-zu7kg yeah he accents certain notes that are where the melody is. He does it with finger 4 for most of em as well which to me is impressive as hell
I really reccomend seeing Ao No Sumika from him, Kick Back, SPECIALZ, and there are some other amazing ones I haven't seen.

one of his craziest pieces is Weathering With you, it's got a ridiculous right hand part that is stunning

6:09 Here you skipped over the bit I believe to be the most difficult part in the piece, having learned the piece myself too. This is at 2:35 in the original video and is often overlooked compared to the flashy sections. The three-handed technique he is using here is easy to play but incredibly difficult to play well. The main melody is sandwiched in the middle and is split between both your hands. Being able to properly voice it is super difficult especially since the section is at mp/mf dynamic if I remember correctly. In fact, that melody is never voiced right in the performance at all. Not at 2:35, nor at 0:58. Maybe it just wasn't his biggest concern but in my opinion it does sound quite off when the dynamics aren't prioritised.

5:05 it's so easy to do that the thing you did sounds nothing like it!

I used a different key, but the same premise and pattern Is there, minus a few jumps that don't make it much more difficult
I think you explain this song Much better than Channel Matthew Cawood Thank you so much

Cause Matthew was so focused on chord progression than techniques.
