i feel like its a different feeling watching this version as compared to the performance version. this doesn't fully capture the "nightmare" feel that the performance tried to showcase, mainly because imo the different costumes were a little distracting :/

Soyeon is a genius and GIDLE are incredible performers! While I still prefer the lonely, melancholy feel of the original, I do love how the Nightmare version stands on its own and gives a more unhinged feeling. Also I get why you decided not to react to the Queendom version (because of Mnet) but I hope the reactors watch the Queendom performance on their own because it's one of the best performances I've seen in a long time. The emotion and commitment GIDLE put into it was amazing!

This might be one of my favorite reactions on this channel. You can tell how into and moved by the song they were. I love both versions, they each express a different form of heartbreak for me. The original seems more isolated, full of self-loathing, and like they’ve given up. The nightmare version feels obviously creepy but also possessive, like they’re in denial to the extent they’ll take drastic measures to ensure they’re always with their beloved.

This reaction reminds us that Soyeon did a lot of stuff during the Queendom production: she finished Lion, rearranged Latata and (this song) Say No, plus planned all of (G)I-dle's performances including the set design, costume and choreography. I know she gets a bunch of help but a lot of i-dle's creative output does start with her, as was actually shown in Queendom. Too bad ReacttotheK couldn't react to the Queendom performance because that was the better version. And it was done live!

Watch the show Queendom! Soyeon completely rearranged and recomposed the song for their live performance and it shows a lot of behind the scenes stuff! You also get the Latata remix, Lion debut performance, 2NE1 Fire cover, Soyeon's record breaking rap, Minnie's duet with AOA main vocal and Soojin's insanely sexy dance solo performance!

This rearrangement is amazing! Soyeon it's incredible talented and she and (G)I-DLE should have more appreciation!!!!!!!!! I'm glad the reactors really liked the 2 versions and all the differences.

maybe i'm biased because i've been in a similar situation as to what the song is about but ughhh this is one of their best songs, genuinely. i wish more people knew about it, it's stunning and you can feel so many emotions.

yeah this is THAT song. I first heard the nightmare version first, on Queendom. That performance was a legendary one. Their emotion in their voices, their facial expressions. This song got me into them, and here i am now, a part of nevie since 2019.

I think with the nightmare version it feels like the heartbreak has driven them crazy while in the original it was more like sitting alone in a room with the lights off

It would have been such an experience to watch the performance but mnet sucks. But the way they described how the artists expressed their emotions, that’s also something I realized the first time I heard the song. Also I Made is an underrated album, all the tracks are so unique and amazing like this, the girls know how to perform and are truly amazing artists

Can anyone explain to me why G-idle is not nominated on any 2020 MAMA categories? Definitely one of the most talented groups, they're like Red Velvet for me, a group that's not afraid to do different kinds of genres (don't mention the groups that do different genres with their B side tracks, I'm talking about the title songs), they don't settle with the basic shits.

@@wifeysubbie7349 maybe, we don’t know for sure, but it kinda makes sense. i mean, idle was literally the only rookie group on the show and let’s be honest, they were the only ones that constantly gave us various spectacular performances. also the fact that they changed up the voting system during kingdom...as far as i remember, when idle participated to queendom no other cube group showed their support towards us, correct me if i’m wrong.

While I like Put It Straight a lot, after I watched their Nightmare version on Queendom, I prefer their new unhinged edition over the original. However, both songs are so different that you can see them as two separate songs. Btw, as good as the dance choreography is, their Queendom performance is still unrivaled, and it represents the song better imo.

I totally agree with what Jason said at 10:05! Because thats what I always say when paople ask why I am listening to songs where I can't understand the language. You don't need to understand the language if you can understand the song just by listening to the music...

Okay, both versions are dope as hell. It really amazed me that such beautiful, eerie sound in the first song could be rearranged even more eerie yet still retained the beautiful and sad emotions. Super, super cool. Btw, I had so much new perspective and admiration at some groups in Kpop after hearing their B side songs. They really does put their crown jewel and efforts in B side, some are even more experimental effect, themes or vibes (backward-kind effects in sync with the beats, longer delay in silence). Such a great experience and journey in music, I really like it a lot.

The ballad version, to me, conveys the feelings of "why?" Why or how is this happening to me? In response to @9:01, it doesn't feel super sad to me either. It feels like the person in the story was in a state of denial or disbelieve that this event is happening to her and on the border of losing her mind. The nightmare version conveys the same disbelieve emotion except now the person in the story has lost her mind and gone psycho.

I hope somehow or someway even if its offscreen they were able to see the queendom ver. And we can know what they thought about it, since some talked about how the song was emotionally, and the emotional impact of the queendom ver was something else.
