I met Mr. Yankovic in Disneyland in 2009. Extremely nice and polite. He even introduced me to his wife Suzanne and daughter Nina. I guess he was nice to me because when I saw him I called out “ Hey , Al!” he turned around and said “Yesssss?” I just said nice to meet you, I’m a big fan. Not original but I was just surprised he turned around and introduced me to his family and wished me a fun day in the park 💕💕💕 What a gentleman!

@@teideim5669 I might be that cynical about another celebrity, but from all his years of past behavior and consistency, I trust Weird Al. It's not like he needs attention anymore in any case, he's made all the money and got all the fame anybody could want. While I wouldn't trust a lot of other celebs this way, in this case I think, in absence of further evidence, I'll take it at face value: he released a cool accordion tune because he had extra time, wanted to make people happier, and correctly thought this would do it.

Somebody had to break Al, for whatever reason :( and losing both parents at once would be effective.. Many, many celebrities have family members and others close to them who have died tragic yet mysterious deaths.

@@kimraudenbush427 There's also an instrument called a _glass harmonica,_ that's basically the bowls of different-sized wine glasses threaded onto a rotating spindle, to make them easier to play. It was invented by Benjamin Franklin in 1761-62 (after he saw a concert of someone playing wine glasses like you described) and was pretty popular in the late 1700s-early 1800s. Franklin's original version was powered by a foot treadle, like an old spinning wheel. Modern ones either work the same, or have an electric motor instead. They also usually have a stripe of color just below the rim on the "black key" glasses, so you can find the notes the same way as on a piano.

The talent this has to require is remarkable. Al kicks ass and has remained true to himself no matter what...what a fabulous man.

The rest of us are dying to return to normalcy, and Al is on his balcony SHREDDING on an...accordion. Thanks, Weird Al. We all needed that.

@@brianl8481 isn't John Candy still a continental treasure? My favorite comedian of alltime. And his polka playing character in Home Alone mentions my city, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I think we got blessed with both. Sometimes like we stole them. This country(U.S.) needs more lighter comedy now. Even before the COVID pandemic.

Or at least remember his first songs, including my bologna, were played on the accordion. I prefer Another One Rides the Bus. Both played with just the accordion and Al singing. Whenever I think of Al's last name, I think of the accordion playing polka king, Frankie Yankovic. Coincidence? I don't think so. When I first heard Weird Al, I thought he was related to Frankie. Innocent child, I was.

I've always loved the sound of the accordion. It's hard enough to play this song on an acoustic let alone an accordion but that was beautiful. Not only are you a great comedian but a wonderful musician! Thank you Al for bringing joy into our lives especially during these troubled times. You're a legend.

@@richardburchett Oh, man! I had Dare to be Stupid and Off the Deep End on tape. But yeah, 3-D was epic. Nature Trail to Hell and I lost on Jeopardy still pop into my head at Random.

Its fun to watch Al just play like no one is watching. When he closed his eyes and just gos in to a flow state.

Watching it once a day during the lockdown, it helps a lot! Thanks Al.

This is one of my favorite songs of ALL TIME. It evokes a world OF ENDLESS HOPE and POSSIBILITIES, OPEN, DISTANT HORIZONS, under skies in which ANYTHING POSITIVE WAS ATTAINABLE and WE DARED TO DREAM ABOUT IT. We can STILL do it, we have the resources and the technology, we just need the will and the open mindedness to do it. Al pays respect to it here because he does not parody it but plays it earnestly, LOVE YOU AL.

Weird Al proves that one man and his accordion can bring joy to the world in these tough times we are all facing. I have loved Al since I was 7 and heard 'Eat It' for the first time. I was an odd kid, and there was something about Al I instantly connected with. I have bought almost every record and watched almost any show or movie with Al in it. Heck, I even went and saw UHF in the theatres with my mom. It was a double feature along with the Pheobe Cates 1960s set film 'Shag." I just came to see UHF and skipped the other film.

If you like weird al for his weirdness i recomand a little band called ween. Still funny but not a joke band and no parodies, just tongue in cheek humor with amazing music. I recomend songs, chocolate town, hiv song, buenos tardes, you fucked up, let me lick your pussy (live at stubs), the mollusk, mutilated lips, light me up, bananas and blow and tear for eddie live. Their live shows are among the best

Sometimes I forget that Al is first and foremost a professionally trained accordionist. His raw talent blows me away. I stand in awe as a 34 year old man in the same way I did when I found him when I was 10. God bless Weird Al Yankovic. He is the centermost stone in out nation's crown jewels.

I know that his father was a nationally famous accordionist. I know that Al Yankovic is a talented musician, but I wasn't sure what instrument he first studied.

He was NOT professionally trained. He quit after 4 or 5 lessons and trained himself.

Al has been a favorite since his beginning... A few years I went out as a look-a-like on Halloween! Love all this man's works of art so talented in many ways

i love classical gas and never thought I'd see it done on accordian, or done by weird Al, or done so well on such an instrument by anyone. great talent as always 😁

LOVE this. Al is the one talented, smart and humble celebrity who actually deserves this lovely house in the hills, too.

First off, Jesus this man doesn't age. Second, it's easy to forget he knows how to use an accordion seriously until you see stuff like this.

It is easy to forget, with a focus on the comedy, that what he does requires serious musical capabilities. He plays every style really well. He was into Nirvana before they were cool. He was actually annoyed they weren't cool enough to cover and when they started getting radio play and he thought he could sell their parody, he called Kurt. Kurt said that was the moment he realized he had made it.

Musician, saint, scholar, comedian extraordinaire! This man is a gem.

My dad passed away in January. He loved this song and he loved Weird Al. Hearing this is great catharsis.

I'm assuming Al's neighbors are just used to stuff like this.
