Classic Tailback - Napoleon Kaufman Washington Highlights
Спорт
A compilation of some of Napoleon Kaufman's highlight's at the University of Washington. After his collegiate career was over, Kaufman was drafted in the first round by Al Davis' Raiders. That should give you an idea of how FAST this guy was. He was the definition of a scat-back, a tailback who could make a man miss and take it to the endzone at any time.
The games I used to take the clips from can be found on Stephen Barnett's youtube channel (and there were a few other channels I used as well that you can find if you look around): / sbbarnet. .

Loved this guy in the pros too. He could run low and that burst was electric.
Nip was so fun to watch....easily one of my favorite Dawgs ever.
I was in the 8th grade when I saw Lompoc vs Santa Barbara. Nip scored 5 touchdowns in the first half and then sat out for the second. He's an 805 legend who went on to play for the Raiders who used to have their summer practices in Oxnard. That's why the Raiders have a huge following in the 805! Nip is one of my favorite top 10 tailbacks of all time. And now he's a pastor preaching the Good Word! Much respect🤙

Facts- I used to watch the games at the Lompoc Brave stadium as a kid…He actually lived down the street from me…Legend on the field and the streets. 805 shit 🫡👊🏿
One of the quicker players I’ve ever seen was full speed by the time he hit line of scrimmage. Ran very recklessly. One of my favorites to watch.
Nap is still my favorite NFL player of all time. He is the only NFL jersey I have ever owned. I was so excited when the Raiders drafted him I ordered a custom jersey over the phone the very next day. It had to be custom because it was so soon they obviously were not making Kaufman jersey's yet. I still have the jersey in a glass case in my game room.

What a great video.....THANK YOU so much!! No crappy music to ruin it like so many do....just pure football
I'm sorry for the lack of uploads over the last week. I've been lazy. I'll try to make at least two videos a week, if I can.

He was incredible. But I had to re-watch just to see the line absolutely destroy everyone in their path on those runs. They had some great teams those years
thank you for this. *Nephew*

Can you fact check my anecdote on Your nephews sophomore season. I’m now recalling a win over Notre Dame Sherman Oaks in round 1. That was the team I was referring to. I was class of 86. We had Sheldon Canley who was one of the great backs that played for the Braves. Nip was in a class by himself. If he broke 1 tackle from scrimmage he was gone. ☮️
Love these highlights💯💯💯 I played Tailback in high school and in college. These the best highlights right here (biased) lol.
I remember watching him in & he was great. So was the running back that was before him, Beno Bryant.
do biakabutuka from Michigan
One of my all-time favorite Huskies, and one of the reasons I played tailback in HS.
bless you Pocket Candy!! great memories t he's videos bring

Best RB in UW history...bar none. Literal lightening!!!
great video.
Before Reggie Bush, before Oregon had all those different uniforms and were the "IT" school in the Pac-10....there was Napoleon Kaufman. Had some good years with the Raiders to.
Definitely an underused, talented player. He could make quick cuts, and was like a cannonball shooting through any openings in the defense
Forgot about NK thanks for the upload!
My Favorite College Running back I model my style after him I would like this in HD to show my son
Saw him play at Cal back in the 90s when Cal undefeated and they came from behind to beat Cal at the time I didn't really know that much about him but he became my favorite running back that day...
I loved watching him as long as he wasn't playing Cal! He literally broke my heart every year!
Kaufman should've been an all-time USC great. But Washington was a mini powerhouse in the early 90s, while local universities were down in the gutter, so he chose Washington.
Pound for pound champ!!
my all-time favorite husky running back.
Went to school with him at lompoc high..Remember he used to run to school every morning..Talented guy who found his calling ..godbless
It still amazes me just how fast he could accelerate to full speed in just a few steps, some seriously powerful leg strength hr had, it's so rare to see any RB's like him. Not many 180 pound guys dragging tacklers or taking shoulders to defenders. I'm not saying that the past few RB's like Polk weren't great backs, they were durable and talented, and they are also pretty fast, . Kaufman just had a higher range in his gearing, and his reaction time seemed so beyond his peers, he'd probably still be evolved over his peers if it was today's game
It is March 2018 and I have seen ALL the UW backs since Kaufman. He is still the best back UW ever had. Electric!!! And a fine human being...became a pastor.

Funny thing is this guy went to the same high school as me.
Ladainian Tomlinson TCU highlights he was a ..MONSTER!
Jeez he was very fast and great vision
I love hearing Keith Jackson's voice in some of these clips. He was the best even if he was a Coug.

Do you think you could do Anthony Thompson from IU or Troy Davis from Iowa State?

I have looked into doing an Anthony Thompson video. As for Troy Davis, there's not enough footage of his teams to do a good enough video.

I agree with how you feel, but the problem is that the bad teams don't have their games uploaded on youtube very often, thus limiting me to only making videos of good players on good teams.

Before Reggie Bush there was Napoleon Kaufman. Kaufman was smaller and didn't have the straight line speed Reggie had. Very similar running styles.

He was really something. Wicked movement. Used to watch these Husky games. About 5'9" barely, 175 pounds. Ox-strong. Had that side-step, studder-step move. Wicked acceleration.

Cotonio Moses34 I was a 167 lb RB in College during this time, so Kaufman was one of my idol's. I heard he benched 400+ and we were about the same speed, 4.3-4.4. He went to the Raiders and did well. I think the NFL was just a little too big for him but despite this fact, he still was very good. Rocket Ismael was my other guy too, he also was around the same time. But Rocket ran a 4.1-4.2. Watch his Highlights, some of the best ever to come out of College. Absolutely incredible.

a Tony one would be GREAT if enough footage can be found. You are the first person I have seen that seems to understand not all great runs are 80 yd TDs! SO many great runs from great runners that may go 15 yd with broken tackles and jukes !!!! THANK YOU !!!!
@PockyCandy

I think that I've found enough footage to make a passable Tony Dorsett video now. And thank you for the compliment. I try to include ALL of the good runs, not just the long touchdowns. It helps pad out the length of the videos too.
Reggie Bush before Reggie Bush
Very Shifty running back. Throwback to a guy I haven't heard of.
Most smaller backs are very impatient. I believe that's what made him a great back....along with being fast as hell. Lol
And bench press 505 pounds in the nfl
If your going to make these videos, use the best highlights
@mikearnold1322
4 жыл бұрын
I suggest you watch again. Even in short yardage gains, his abilities are ever present, this video just solidifies that he was a durable and reliable. No one says he ever took a play off, some of his blocks are just as great as any of his fantastic runs were
Probably the weakest highlight film ever by a guy who was supposed to be blazing fast. He didn't have one big run to the house smh
