CLASSIC SWEDISH CHRISTMAS DIY'S | MY SWEDISH CHRISTMAS CALENDAR #1

Welcome to the first episode in my Swedish Christmas Calendar. In this episode I'll be guiding you through the classic Swedish "JULPYSSEL" or "DIY's". What did we make "back in the days" that are still as relevant today and what are of the old style Christmas DIY's are my favorites?
Hope you're all having a wonderful Christmas and that you like my little Advent Calendar! Until I see you next time (tomorrow that is...)
God Jul! (= Merry Christmas)

Your paper snowflake is lovely. That paper crafting technique has 2 names: "paper filigree" and "quilling."

After watching this video, we changed our mind about buying a toy advent calendar for my 4 year old and baby. I decided everyday that we will bake something or make a decorations handmade everyday. First day we made the orange 🍊 💕 another day we cooked your delicious triple nut cake , yesterday we tried the porridge. Thank you so much it so much better than just buying toys !!!! ✨

Wow I am soooo happy that you made that decision. For a better planet and environment, for your baby giving you and her memories (well maybe she is too young to remember) but somehow I do think we give our children values even from the start. I think that sounds like the best Christmas ever and I couldn't not be happier for you guyes!

When my daughter was little, I made her a Saint Lucia outfit for Christmas-hair so blonde it was white, eyes so blue the whites were blue, long white dress, white baby’s breath halo & red ribbon! Her “Anderson” relatives loved it!! And now she’s dating a young man whose family is from Sweden, I need to find the pictures!!! He has seen her at her best, white hair and all.....her hair is reddish now, but her eyes are still blue. And I make those quilled snowflakes!!!! I love quilling!!! I never realize it was Swedish!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!! Can’t wait to do these with my grandson!!!

I lived in southern Sweden for 5 years and found the way Swedes decorate and celebrate Jul so meaningful. We have adopted many of the Jul customs in our home in the United States. Thank you for your beautiful videos. Jag känner mig ”sverigesugen”. I know that’s not a real word, but it kind of sums up how much I miss Sverige och hur mycket jag älskar Sverige.

We put on appels on the xmas tree also and a lot of sweets as well😁 When i was a child we alyways make xmas paper decorations at school ,paper chains, angels etc Also we put under the tree miniature of Christmas Nativity scene...the shed when Jesus was born. We have a lot of beautiful xmas traditions, but many people r too lazy now to carry on😔 Anyway I wish u all the best,a love to watch beautiful swedish village under the snow❄☃️🌨it melt my heart 🥰
