😮‍💨Remakes, Reboots, Remasters etc. Just like Hollywood, I didn't expect the gaming industry would also run out of ideas. I much rather have a spinoff, sequel or something new instead of the same old games with upgraded features. That's just me.

Did you even watch the whole video? There are TONS of unique and new games coming out or getting updates as well. Of course there are huge games getting remade or revisited but you’re conveniently ignoring the literally thousands of smaller games being made.

I found that comparison odd as well, since Commandos is older than Desperados. Btw we called it Commandos with cowboys 😂 I remember drawing one of the first snow missions from Commandos 1 on a paper, so that I can "play" it with a friend at school who didn't have a computer. Our imagination made everything look like it was moving. Ah the memories.

I also went through some mild emotional turmoil when I heard a Commandos game described as "Desperados set in World War 2", but it's also kind of fun to hear how differently other people have experienced the era of classic PC games. Obviously everyone can't know every game, whether or not you're a professional games person. But what everyone DOES need to know is how awesome the main menu theme for Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty is. I never even beat the demo mission for that game, but the main menu theme still lives on in my head, 25 years later.

Honestly the only AC game that needs a true full remake is 1. More people need to put respect on my boy Altair.

I feel like if you remake AC2, you gotta do Brotherhood and Revelations too. The catch to PS3 emulation is that we'll have to pay full price for old games we probably already own but can't play because the PS5/4 doesn't read PS3 discs.

AC1 needs remade the most though, on PC it doesn't work properly on modern operating systems and its mechanics could be updated.

Long as they also release the original versions of the game with as little touched up as possible. I think Squenix did that with Super Mario RPG. Also the Trials of Mana (?). Feel even the originals would do better in the more online friendly climate than when they released. Also didn't hate Raccoon City so just freeing that up from GFWL and having it available again.

Not a fan of the Dead Rising games, just hate the time limit, but I'm glad for all of the fans. I used to watch walkthroughs and all of the cutscenes with all of the endings. Hope that its great

The whole game was an example of two great ideas in the same game can lead to each one making the other a bad idea. The "race the clock to save the survivors, interect with interesting NPCs and scenarios to uncover the mystery in a sped up 72 hours." And the "everything is weapon, endlessly creative zombie slaying action." They gave the tools to just go wild killing zombies in fun, crazy, hilarious, and creative ways. And that's what I wanted to do. But, then the game tells me that I can't do that because, I have to B-line in it to witness a main story event or, its game over. I literally made a b-line and after the first boss, the clown guy, I started being late for events probably because, I did the hot shot camera guy side story. And the game eventually said game over. So, I tried again and ran past the photo guy straight to the clown guy. Doing my best to run past the convicts in the jeep, if they appeared. Which don't appear if you're too early or too late. (i.e. there are missable events) Got to the clown, beat him, got back to the safe house area, and started the 2nd day. 30 real world minutes in to the 2nd day, missed event notifications began popping off so, I just began slaying zombies and the game eventually gave me a game over because, I had missed a major event. I couldn't get back into the game after that. I got bored of repeating the same few early events. And not being allowed to revel in the fighting and weapons system in the game. It felt like even taking photos could cost me too much time. I think the Deluxe Remaster should include a real time 72 hour mode. Meaning it would take the game being left on, unpaused, for 72 real world hours to reach the end of the game's 3 days.

I dunno, I think the only one that really feels different is the first, really nailed it down in AC2 (bring back the difficulty of AC2 it also got easier after that lol), the new RPG style ones are different in other mechanics but no so much controls or stealth

No new game controls. We need puppet controls especially for the classics. AC2 was a downgrade in some ways. The combat was made boring and easy. The level design doesn't work as well. Combat and parkour just felt better in AC1 than any other AC. The story, the vibe, the ambience, the fact that the whole world is telling the story as we move and explore in and out of the animus. I would be shocked if they managed to remake all of that today. Hoping

If you have PC Game Pass you can just stream Skate 3 from the cloud. Played it a bunch last year with some friends and while we had some issues trying to figure out how to connect to each other at first, once you’re over that hurdle it’s great.

Hopefully they don’t say “remade for a modern audience”

I'm very happy you featured Riven and mentioned Myst. That's a series that deserves WAY more recognition than it has been getting these days. At one point Myst was the best selling PC game for almost a decade straight and Riven was the best selling PC game the year that game came out, but now kids today don't even know it exists. It's like if one day Devil May Cry was just forgotten. It's very odd.

I've been streaming Origins, and it actually runs pretty well. I have gig speed on the internet, so that probably helps

IMO it's pretty pitiful when remakes and remasters are what gets us excited.

Wrong. This kind of toxic thinking is dumb in the extreme. Think about this (if you're capable of using that much brain capacity) Assassin's Creed 1 was almost 20 years ago. There are people now, almost adults, who have lived their ENTIRE LIFE after AC1 released, by the time they were old enough to be playing it there were 10 years of new games. Remakes are NOT FOR YOU who was there and who played the original, there are more new gamers now who weren't around back then, than there were gamers total at that time. It's for them, and also those like me who love to re-experience an old favourite at a modern level. Not only that, they are in ADDITION to a constant stream of fantastic new releases at every level Indie/AA/AAA. But a fake gamer wouldn't know that would they?

I literally built a to ptier pc and this one of the first games I loaded up. Its great and I love it but drg just hits different. Even with no voice Comms I feel like I know my bro dwarfs. Helldivers is just kinda dead solo.obbbiously with friends it better

Dead rising is my favorite game, so to see the game recast the voice actor and look is terrible, I’d say for fans of the og it would be better if they kept the voice actors, update the gameplay in the sense of movement for all ai including zombies, with survivors having voices, Frank speaking on the the transporter with whoever on the other line speaking back… and most importantly if we could get more ending (which I think is the biggest stretch)

Always love Gaming News Fridays with Jake. I’m glad to see new games coming out. My personal gaming journey skipped from PS1 to PS4 (I didn’t have time to play for a while there) so not sure any PS3 games will light my fire, but more access to more games is always good.

Some day they'll come out with a Zombie game that has a sandbox open world feel, surviving aspects, building, good story, and dread every moment you leave your safe house to get supplies or explore. Some games have come close, but they're always missing something.

Cloudpunk is another i think personally hidden gem in cyberpunk setting, i think its great

Given that GOG did the work to update RE, I think it'll be a long time until it's elsewhere. (Like with Alpha Protocol.)

Im keeping my eyes on : Berlin Apartment, and PVKK. They both seem like really interesting games. One with history and the other is giving me killer frequency and Not for Broadcast vibes. Both of them i enjoyed and loved

Original Resident Evil did come to PC, I used to have the 'big box' version of it. I know that doesn't necessarily make it playable for most people and the game itself is very expensive these days to buy used...but it was available.

Let's hope Crystal Dynamics and Amy Henning are noticing the pull of all these reimaginings eh.
