Binge watching the old vids again. Can't believe the uploaded dates on these. Many good memories with this game.

Buying and donating thru CGR is probably one of the most brilliant ways I've seen for supporting a show.

I used to get massive headaches playing this game as a kid.

Extreme G series is one to check out on the N64 for sure. Wish this series would be revived some day.

I finished both of these games on the extreme difficulty. The second one i found more challenging due to the tracks.. The music is amazing in these games your reviews are awesome, im loving them xDD

This was my game man, told my brother to buy me Diddy Kong Racing for christmas and was disappointed when I got Extreme G. Then when I started playing Extreme G, ONE OF THE BEST RACING GAMES OF ALL TIME FOR ME MAN. Best decision my brother did for me, awesome game with awesome music :)

I don't know why, but when i was a kid, i always found the box art for Extreme G so fascinating.. The HUD, the screen shots of the game, but i think every game looked so fascinating on the box art when i was a kid and made me want to get all the games on N64. I only had NES as a kid so i was never up to date with technology. Any one else feel this?

I have this game! Everything he says about it is true. Memorization is key, especially since you can't even see 10 feet in front of you due to the "mist" that that era of consoles is known for having in pretty much every game. But once you get some hang of the game play (which I still haven't fully done, but I'm practicing some more) it really is loads of fun to play.

You know i had forgotten all about this game and watching this vid has brought back a few good memories, you do not hear much said about this game on forums and message boards but it i thought it was pretty good.

No problem. If you're trying to record directly from your home console you will need to get a PVR, they range from about $30-150 so the emulator option would be best.

Gotta love that classic N64 fog. Kids these days they don't know, they missed out.

Dang memories of X-mas 1997, the handling was always hard to master on this game, but the music was a first for the N64.

I remember the Extreme G racing game I had on the ps2. XGIII: Extreme G Racing. Really fun game. Still have my copy!

The "Extreme G" voice reminded me that we haven't seen much of Viral Dog lately.

Reminds me of pod racing. The sound of the engine humming is almost the same noise as in pod racing too.

probably in my top 5 games for n64. took a while for my friends to get as good as it as i was but they even struggled with diddy kong racing at the start...

Ya, I was looking into that too. I still would like to buy an actual N64. I was wondering about the Dazzle DVD Recorder for recording N64 gameplay, is that thing worth it? I've seen some poor reviews of this thing.

Loved this game. XGIII (for the PS2) is really good too. Really great graphics/speed for a 2001 game.

I dont think it looks that bad on a CRT or with an HDMI adapter. I always liked this series more than Wipeout and Fzero for the most part. XG3 and XGRA were amazing aswell!

Makes me wish there was an "Extreme-Road Rash" for the home consoles, and PC!

Don't know about XG-1, but XG-2 suffered from intense slowdown, yet it was still cool as fudge

This was the first game I ever played that really felt fast, warp speed fast.

Just bought it today! Can't wait til my oldest nephew tries it out! Anyway all hail Lord Karnage!

I remember this game! It was the shit. Recently got a hold a n64, have Golden eye, Quake 2 and SW:Rogue Squadron. Extreme G is on my list for sure. Thanks for the vid man.

I had this game back in the day and played it a lot. It's too foggy and frustrating, but it was fun.

which one o these was bestestest?? there was xgra and extreme g 3 wasnt there? i had this for a bit and didnt like how you could just slide around the edge of the track

XGIII and XGRA are my favorites but the N64 classics remain two of the best games the console had to offer.

"Rare > Nintendo > Acclaim > everyone else" Lucasarts had some good games on N64 too (mainly Star Wars games like Shadows of the Empire, Rogue Squadron and Episode I Racer)

I use to love this game as a kid but I didn't have a memory card so I would spend hours a day trying to finish the game in one go. I did a few times.

I had X-G3 for the cube and loved the levels but all the bikes were the same which was sad.

I swear..... That reverb and delay had me about to die.

Picked up a copy if this for $3!! i used to play it when i was younger and had lost my copy, good bargain. Also, they have XGIII for gamecube, and Mark, you should review that after XG2.

Batman's bike in the Dark Knight looks like a lot with Extreme G's ones.

Well he said on the N64 alone, on any other consoles, your argument would make more sense. Rare made Conker, DK64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, and who could forget Banjo-Kazooie. While Nintendo did make good games for the N64, they only made a couple: Super Smash Bros., Mario kart 64, F-zero X, Starfox 64, and the Zelda games. And I didn't list Mario 64 because it honestly just isn't that fun to me, even though it is still a nostalgic game for me. Long reply for a 2 question com

I used to have Xtreme G 3 on N64. It was good fun, but the passwords were a pain to input for the unlocked stages!

I just DL the GameCube version of this like a week ago. Reminds me of F-Zero GX.

this game works great with a xbox 360 controller (while playing it on a emulator of course)

Epic with the saying Extreme G Really enjoy the music give the feeling to race One my favorite racing games still can get blast playing the game Very Fun N64 Title and pretty underrating series while third game in the series in my favorite and see big improvement over the year of this series. Warning in my opinion I don’t like chances in second game feel like set down compare the first.

LOL No, "Exreme-ROAD RASH" isn't an actually game, unfortunately. I wish it were though, that's why I joked about "wishing" it would come to the home consoles. The kinetic speed of Extreme-G combined with the bikes from Road Rash, that would be very, awesome! Man, I really love me some Road Rash!

XG1 and XG2 are outstanding games, yeah. XG2 is the better of the two, but the first is also incredible. XG3 is pretty good too (GC/PS2); it plays like Wipeout (3, pretty much), not like the other Extreme-G games, but still, it is good. XGRA though, the last game... it's one of my favorite racing games ever, and actually is my favorite overall 6th gen racing game (F-Zero GX finishes second thanks to the frustration factor). Absolutely incredible game, and a highly under-appreciated classic.
