One of my favorite games. Granted, the camera could be better but it's way more manageable than you think it is if you're going based solely on what you hear in reviews. And good golly the plot... I know many games have great stories, but not only is this story great but it felt like a story that NEEDED to be told. And the finale truly culminates into something genuinely exciting. Too bad the sequel was a flat-out mess.

My biggest problem with Power of Two is that it felt kind of token, and the plot is a lot smaller, more inconsequential and downright doesn't have anywhere near the emotional resonance that the first one had. The gameplay is still enjoyable, but they did little to fix the issues of the first game. The experience honestly feels like a game that wanted to play out episodically, but then only made a single episode and screamed "BOLLOCKS TO IT" while leaving the design room. BTW, since this comment is from two years ago, I wouldn't be surprised if this answer is too late.

Some of the levels in this reminded me of Mickey mania on the genesis which I very much enjoyed back in the day

Best review of this game I've seen. Honestly, the game looks sick. This may be a Wii sleeper gem, I think. Consider this: in the context of cartoons, paint and paint thinner could be seen as agents of creation and destruction, respectively. Mickey wields BOTH of these powers in this game. He is both destroyer and creator. When they say "Epic" Mickey, Disney Interactive is NOT fucking around. Mickey Mouse is a FUCKING GOD in this game.

That awkward moment when you realize 'thinner' is really 'The Dip'. Mickey Mouse is Judge Doom.

I think the controls had lots of problem, but I LOVED Epic Mickey and gave it my Game of the Year.

This is the first positive review of this game that I've seen. I'm a bit surprised about how positive it is.

What a perfect review, Mark is all class. I especially like his comment on how Disney seems to do nothing but crappy teen shows nowadays, so true, I miss the old Disney.

Finally! Somebody who likes the controls. I'm so sick of these reviews that say "don't buy it for the gameplay," because it is worth your time. And Mickey isn't the King of Cartoons. Gilbert Lewis is. Or William H. Marshall if we're talking about any season but 1. :P

@FastTquick Yes it is. You will come to some parts in the game which make you either save this character or not save this character or for something else, like a treasure, and depend if you do this action or not in the, it affects most of the game.

love this game. i'm saving it for my summer vacation though since it's a pretty time consuming game if you are like me and going to go through the game 100% (1 paint runthrough, 1 thinner runthrough, and 1 ticket/quest runthrough).

Mickey does that in Kingdom Hearts. He a badass in those games.

@Osirah It might not be. Spector says there's no reason why he couldn't port it to both the 360 and PS3, although no one's asked him to do it yet.

l remember having a Micky Mouse game on the megadrive, it was EPIC!! even thou it was basically a mario clone, it was still a really fun and challenging game to play.

Deja Vu at the end of this video....from about 17 years ago! Steamboat Willie chapter from Mickey Mania on the SEGA CD! They even carried over the film sprocket holes effect. Been ages since I played MM but I think some of the sounds are very similar too.

@MANNY100123 You're spot on. I don't think Junction Point will have a problem redoing the controls for Move support, but I think the real challenge for them will be trying to get the game to run on the PS3 in the first place.

Disney games have a lot to live up to. Most of them are great games. Mickey's Castle of Illusions is one of the best games on Genesis. Its no surprise that this one is also good.

This reminds me of the snes mickey mouse games memories looks neat.

If this had been realesed during the golden age of 3D plataformers in the Nintendo64 along with Mario 64 and Banjo it would have become a classic, like those games... Sadly some people seems hate 3D plataforming nowadays, can´t really tell why...

BBS and Dream Drop Distance are not spin-offs. They are just as important to the story as numbered titles , Tetsuya Nomura has stated so himself.

@MrRallemulle It seems it was fake, because they said the announcement would be made on January 3, but it's now January 5 and no news of Epic Mickey coming to PS3 yet. Not all sources on the internet are credible. However, Warren Spector has said to be open for the possibility of porting to the other consoles, but it's not high on any priority. Besides, Epic Mickey uses the IR pointer, which is an area the Move is not as accurate with. So you may just be getting better graphics, and that's it.

excellent review. i absolutely loved this game and im, by no means, a huge disney fan. i really had alot of fun with it. i didnt get all the complaints from alot of other reviewers.

I remember playing this game for the first time... I watched the intro turned the game off and didn't play for a year and at night I had nightmares about shadow blot e for everyone my butt!

@FastTquick Epic mickey has been made for the ps3 since they also began with the wii. The ps3 version will have unique controls for the ps move and a whole new engine.

The wii needs more high budget third party games. This game is by no means perfect but it's in the right direction for the wii.

this game doesn't have that much colors in 3D levels that it should have! side 2D levels looks gr8! the best Mickey game is Mickey Mania for SEGA MD/GEN/MEGA-CD, SNES, SONY PSX

But below that they also wrote that it was an unofficial announcement, and that people had to take it with a grain of salt. Read it again and try to understand it this time then.

@nastybeard This actually WAS a ps3 exclusive, but they changed their mind and made it a Wii exclusive. I think if it would be a 360 or ps3 game people would obviously compare it to Super Mario Galaxy and even call it a ripoff. So I think it's better as a Wii title, giving the fact how many cartoon games are already on the Wii, this makes perfect sense.

you should compare this game to Castle of Illusion on the genesis! a lot has progressed sine that was released as for epic mickey, i haven't played my copy yet, so busy with gran turismo 5 :)

hey all you people saying the game is copying other gameplay styles, i agree but these days original is hard to come by. however this produces a great opportunity for nintendo to (PLEASE THUMBS THIS UP) put Epic Mickey into the next Super Smash Brothers. Sonic, snake, mario, and epic fucking mickey. sounds like such an epic fight. nintendo could totally make it work too... i mean look at olimar from pikmin.

@waterhawk64 I haven't seen a PS3 game that would make me want to purchase one to date... At least not one that I couldn't get for PC, and save the cost of buying another box to plug into my TV. Same Goes for XBox. I own a Wii for the exclusives and virtual console.
