Classic Game Room HD - METROID PRIME 3 CORRUPTION Wii review
Classic Game Room HD reviews METROID PRIME 3: CORRUPTION for Nintendo Wii. Samus is back in the 3rd Metroid Prime (the 1st two are on Gamecube) and pushed the Wii to its limits with outstanding visuals, smooth gameplay and explosive sounds. Why don't all Wii games look like this?? This CGRHD review of Metroid Prime 3 Corruption has gameplay footage from Metroid Prime Corruption showing Samus in game play, are you stuck in a section? Well, hope you found this in a search engine because I used the word stuck, Xbox 360 and PS3 (ha!), but I can't help you there. However CGRHD likes Metroid Prime 3 Corruption and gives it a good review with favorable opinions. Although CGRHD prefers non-stop blasting and explosions, the puzzle and problem solving parts of Metroid Prime 3 will appeal to fans of the series and fans of science fiction adventure games. This is a first person shooter style game that uses the Wii controller and nunchuk to control where Samus aims and moves. It's a very unique control system that has rave reviews from Wii fans everywhere. Turn into a pinball and roll through tight spots, double jump, use the super fancy-word power up laser thingy and upgrade your awesome space ship. Metroid Prime 3 Corruption is a flagship title on the Wii and is a well made, challenging and lengthy video game from Nintendo. While I still prefer the 1987 NES Metroid, this one is a must play on the Nintendo Wii. Will there be a Metroid Prime 4 release in 2009 or 2010? Is there a Nintendo Wii 2 with a new Metroid Prime in HD? Maybe, or maybe you just found this by searching for it because you dreamed it. There should be. Dig Dug should also make a guest appearance.

@@agamaz5650 play it on a proper 480p crt display that can do anamorphic display and it looks amazing and sharp. The problem with wii games when it comes to visual clarity was that they were never pulled through displays that can capture the proper resolution. Instead on crt's that could only go up to 480i or lcds that had 720p with shitty internal upscaling. Makes a huge difference
About the controls... The default control scheme for this game is not very good.... You have to go to control settings and set the controls to Advanced for them to work properly. It shrinks the turning dead zone making everything WAY better.
I started replaying this game again recently. Still excellent after a good 2 years.
Metroid Prime 1: Make the ending boss a shady creature you know about but never see , creating immense amounts of suspence. Metroid Prime 2: Make the ending boss a rival of Samus, making the goal of the game very personal. Metroid Prime 3: Make the ending boss some random thing that you weren't expecting, make the fight boring, and there you have it. Brother, you are so right.
awsome game
must play this and a about a dozen more wii and wii u games before NX

Its called the switch
Owning both a wii and ps3 I have to say that this is one of my favorite games, and a great game on any system.
I;ve said it once and i'll say it again, your reviews are the most bestest on the internet! Keep it up bro, great job man....
what a crappy review!
I remember spending hours upon hours playing MP2E on my gamecube... brings back memories... BTW Great review, Mark... Keep it up! =]
the metroid prime series were so awesome, you could see how much effort retro studios put in the environments. I hope they'll make donkey kong country returns just as awesome. Go retro studios! :)
I used to love the original Metroid game and I remember how terrifying it was to finally encounter a metroid at the the end. I wish someone would remake the Metroid that was on the original game boy; it was so cool how the metroids mutated as you progress through the game.
Mark never has as much to say in modern reviews. He's much more talky in the retro ones, and that's why I prefer them.
Beat prime in 8.1/2 hours, prime 2 in 13.1/2 hours and prime three in 9.1/4 hours. Enjoyed the whole ride. So happy I got the trilogy set
Those games are pure gems, three of the best games ever made
Metroid Triology is the best thing I ever bought for wii period and it will forever be my best buy for the console...
not just the best looking game on the Wii, but seriously the one of the best of this whole generation
you and wiiviewr have the best wii game reviews!
Damn straight! Hell, if it wasn't for Metroid Prime 1, I would never have gone into shooters as I am now. Also the Trilogy version has all three of those gems.
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was another game that had beautiful graphics on the Nintendo Wii. Can't forget that game!
Metroid Prime 3's graphics were.... amazing. Shockingly amazing.
when i was younger (I'm only 14) my brother would play metroid prime 1 and i would see him go back and fourth and think he's not making much progress but each time he got there he did something new and that is what i like about metroid prime
I would play Metroid Prime 3 on the Wii U with the Controller Pro U because the Controller Pro U has a Wii Remote/Wii Remote Plus and a Wii Nunchuk built into it.
This isn't a classic for most people....BUT it was my first puzzel/FPS/Metroid game I ever played. AND I LOVE IT!
Wii is totally worth a buy now. SSBB, SMB wii, Metroid, Kirby, Donky Kong, zelda: TP, and zelda: SS are all awesome games. If Nintendo can convince me to buy the system then they can convince anyone.
Metroid Prime 3 is one of the best games this generation of gaming. Its a perfect conclusion to a fantastic trilogy. Any Metroid fan or anyone looking for a great fps adventure should buy it, and experience it for themselves. But make sure you play Metroid Prime 1 and 2 first xD
Anyone that think it has the best FPS controls ever obviously has never played any other FPS on Xbox consoles, these are facts.
I have the trilogy disc, best nintendo bang for buck ever. Metroid prime is truely something else, mesmerizing, dark and deep, there is nothing like it, that's why i love nintendo so much. I hope they can bring the metroid series to another new level, the same as they did on gamecube and wii.. Can't wait! Amen
Delightful, even today.
I love the "futuristic Indiana Jones" comment. I'd never thought of it like that :D
Game like this make you forget about the MASSIVE technical limitations of the WII for a while.
@Astaticembrace "You're" is a contraction. A conjunction is a word that connects two clauses. For example... "therefore.....hence.....because"....etc.
Always have loved the Metroid series, Metroid Prime owns.
i have a gamecube and metroid prime 1 and 2 were some of my favorite games ever. dont have a wii though but 3 looks awesome.really underrated series
i remember how beast this game was when i was a kid
That's one of the best FPS I ever played. Captivating!
I remember the preview channel for this game on the Wii. I did everything on that channel like 5 times before the game came out.
Never beat this on the Wii. Started playing it again via the Prime Trilogy on the WiiU, looks fantastic in 1080p. Crazy how well it translates. Most games look pixelated as hell when blown up from 480p.
This must be extremely epic for hand-eye coordination. :P
after playing Metroid Prime hunters on the DS. I'm now a fan of the Metroid Prime series, even though I'm own an Xbox 360.
I haven't played yet Metroid Prime 3 Corruption but only Prime and Prime 2 and i can say that Echoes is far better than the first with better graphics, superior sounds, greater boss fight and many other thing. I finished Echoes within 45 hours while Prime ended in about 22 hours. I don't understand why many people and reviewers say than Echoes is the worst! The truth is that Echoes is more difficult and that is what we, core gamers, are searching for! Echoes for ever!
Same here. Personally, the Wii is the one I had the most fun with this generation.
After you clear out the room of the salamander creatures, you go straight through the room from where you entered. There will he a stone head in the back in a corridor that you couldn't have entered untill the reptillicus (I think that's their name) are dead. In that corridor there the corridor will turn right, and then left to a door. Go through that door and but the edge of the cliff in that room is a bombable wall. It looks cracked. Go through that and you'll be in front of a statue.
Me neither, I've kept meaning to play them and now I'm glad I held off. Now I can play all three, with Wii controls & graphical enhancements, collected together in one disc
Here here! True words of how gaming is! Glad i aren't the only one that knows about this.
I just started playing the 1st prime and i love that game. Cant wait to get the trilogy
Actually, Resident Evil 1 for Gamecube proves that the Wii is just a gamecube with motion sensors, but i still love it
I don't know if anyone's mentioned but although he reccomend's picking this up now if anyone is interested in playing these games then there's a Metroid Prime Trilogy disc coming out for the Wii in August.
I love the First Prime for the Gamecube it was sooo fun.
yeah it was. You could still have the crosshairs fixed in the center of the screen and look around with the wii remote as you would with a mouse on pc or analog stick with console.
I have a Wii and Ps3. Wii doesnt have many popular or great games, but Wii has these magnificent games like Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime trilogy just to name a few, thats the reason I bought Wii
Puzzle... Shooting... Exploring... sounds hard, cool, and challenging ^^
Actually they kept A and B same as they had in the gamecube games, but there is an option to revert them and make it more natural (B for shooting) . I was also very surprised to see the default set up myself but thankfully they had the sense to give other option as well.
Some people dont like slow gameplay they wanna kill shit fast. Take metal slug for example. Also its part of his sense of humor and he gave a positive review
I just bought this game sunday but havent played it yet cannot wait
@sporecreatorperson you can change the pan sensitivity in the options menu.
I have a wii, and I like these kinds of games. I ought to look into it.
What he says at 6:42 into the video....that's why I watch these reviews and love these guys, they're completely unbiased,
It's weird how Mario, Metroid and Zelda are three of the greatest franchises, completely unique from each other, and they're all made by the same company...
Finally i beat the game and it's safe to say this game is incredible, it took me plenty of hours to beat, the controls are excellent and I bought the game for only $10.
I don't like puzzle solving much, but I still like this game. I'm still stuck looking for energy cells.
I've rented it like 5 times. Beautiful game.
@Headshotgod ahh gut zu wissen. also lohnt es sich auch eher die trilogy zu holen oder?
I have been waiting on this review since you started reviewing wii games.
This is a kickass game for sure. This game and the other Nintendo franchises (Mario, Zelda, ect...) are the reason I bought a Wii. Unfortunately the only reason. Ahhh but what the hell, great freaking game! :)
there are some games for wii and gc that feature progressive scan, when you use your component cables, the game asks you to run on progressive scan mode, kirby's air ride looks really smooth
Metroid is here to Stay!!
Good to hear ;) How long is the game, between 10 to 15 hours or more?
@Kingphilip42 I've been looking to buy that, but I'm curious, can you turn the wii controls off on Primes 1&2? For some reason I kinda prefer the Gamecube controller for those. Just wondering. Thanks.
This is an awsome game. One of the best on the wii. I can't wait for the whole trillogy collection and of course The Other M.
If you need help finding the energy cells go to the place you need to use them and there should be monitors you can scan that give you the location of the energy cells and you can check that location again in the menu.
I do know that the Wii U controller doesn't last long at all (apparently) but are you sure about what you say towards true 1080p? What dignifies this?
@juventinorocks I really didnt intended for it to look that way, keep trying to look for them on the internet cus they r classics, especially Super Metroid.
Excellent opening music dude!
YES!!!!! I got the first two on Gamecube... Great! As fizel2 mentioned its best to wait for the trilogy-pack...
i love the music for this game
Pull the shield off of that statue and then you can destroy it, revealing a door. You'll find the grapple lasso in that room. Hope this helps!
Also, another game that looks amazing on the wii, nintendo knows what they're doing with their own console, they should, it IS their console! They made a beautiful engine.
Thats right, thats why my brother and I are getting the 3, plus the ds & 3ds
if you want there is something you can do on elysia that will show you the locations of all power-ups including the energy cells, oh and if you couldnt find all the cells then its pretty much hopless for you to find the artifacts and the keys
Not that my opinion matters, but this game is within my top 5 favorite of all time.
I own this, Metroid Prime 2 on GC as well as Metroid Prime, but I still got Trilogy. I love Metroid :D
I just ordered this yesterday off of Play.com for £6 which is awesome I've never played a Metroid game before and my friend said this was fine to get into the series and i just came on youtube to see some gameplay :)
Looks awesome I'll wait to pick it up in August when Trilogy comes out!!!^_^
No, let them have a longer break from Metroid. Donkey Kong was proof that they needed it. Seriously, why does Retro have to stick to Metroid? Give them the same respect we gave Rare back in the day, like when they spread out from Donkey Kong and developed Conker's Bad Fur Day, Perfect Dark, Blast Corps, Jet Force Gemini, and the Banjo games.
yes.. wii needs more game like this.. it has so nice controller for fps. I played killzone 2 for ps3.. graphics is amazing, but I wish to have wiimout to play it. I have metroid 3 and I can tell you for sure it's really great!!
I got Metroid Prime Trilogy and I think it's great. I can't wait for Other M.
Lol Yeah there is :P It's right on the control configuration screen. Infact it's the first option =P
i still need to finish the 1st 2 Metroid Prime games but this looks really awesome and i want to get it soon.
out of all of my ps2 game cube days metroid prime 2 was by far....
Metroid Prime 3 IMHO looks better than many PS3 and XBox360 games, there's much more imagination here than you'll find in any of the numerous generic FPS's on the more powerful consoles. MP3's art design is far, far superior to the likes of Killzone and Gears of War. Metroid Prime does something few PS3/360 games do in that it creates an atmospheric and fascinating world to explore.
No its allways good to know an Answer. And storys should make sense. But storys in videogames are in most cases just an excuse to do whatever you do in this game, so you should stop wondering about video game storys if it doesn't make sense.
@snowydro1 I haven't played the third, but play the first or the second. The first one is one of THE greatest games ever created, and the second one isn't far behind. Truly amazing stuff, you HAVE to play at least one of them.
@19danflo there is certainly parts of the game where you are isolated, but you have contact with the aurora unit. You have fellow hunters and other characters that play a role n the game. Honestly, i think it makes the game feel more epic, your battling Phazon, stopping it from trying to corrupt the galaxy. I would say this one's controls are great and has some well done animated cutscenes. You can get this game for under $10 at GameStop
the thing is, why the game always gets people wanting to play it, over and over again, someone could even get depressed playing it!! Thats the magic of Metroid Prime.. Its a feeling no other game has ever done to me, its so deep that you dont realize it is a game until the end credits go on rolling, and thats what makes the game a masterpiece.. Masterpiece for the future generations to show, that you could make a classic video game, in 21th century. Thats my opinion, what do you think? Reply! :D
yes, you can but I recommend you buying the Metroid Prime Trilogy for Nintendo Wii where all three of them are included.
Yes there is no bad qualities of Metroid Prime 3:Corruption !!!!!!
I have the first 2 on GC and played on launch date, MP3 naver playen on Wii cuz I never have one, but now I have a Wii U and got the trilogy played all 3, the first 2 are a good port whith minor graphics looses, but 3 are awesome, more than spected and looks gorgeous, the share the same main menu (bad, I was specting to see again que menus for the first 2 at least).
corruption is such a creative trailer ;D
