In this very quick update, I couldn’t pass the opportunity to showcase three of my favourite modern classic convertibles. Having these three cars together is almost as rare as a UK heatwave.
All of these modern classic convertibles offer a great summer driving experience. From the somewhat familiar feeling of a MK1 Golf to the almost unheard of Marcos Mantara, and of course, the V12 soundtrack of the Aston Martin - this lineup offers something for everyone.

The Golf every time 😊👍
DB9 every time. Have got one and cannot get enough of it. Just took it to Paris to see Elton John. Eating up the French 'A' roads for fun with the top down 👌

Thank you for appraising a lovely trio. For me I just love my M6 convertible. Comfortable, Commanding and a great sound.

There is no better feeling than driving on a summers sunny day in my 1999 23- Kompressor SLK with the roof down. It only comes out in the summer and t is one of the joys in life I treasure.Asked to make a choice for me it would be the Golf. It does what it says on the tin. The only other convertible I would consider is a Rolls Corniche which is a paragon of class.

Couldn't agree more :). I too would love a Corniche.
I paid £2500 for my E38 i love it its my daily driver 28 around town 50mpg on a run .

That's great, I will check both of them out.
Marcos all day, the astons pretty but just boring, the vws essentially a shopping cart with the roof chopped off so the marcos is the only one of interested

Great choice! After just completing 2,000 miles across France in 7 days behind the wheel of the Marcos, it's certainly an interesting and great way to travel. Even though I'm pretty sure the DB9 may have been a bit easier at times on those longer journeys haha!
a Marcos will cost a fortune very soon especially latest V8 ones race cars for the road Aston Martin total opposite, even DB9, there are too many of them already, especially automatic - worthless.
marcos ,golf is another level..low
