Love these classic commercials! One of my favorite Stroh's spots featured Thom Sharpe as a man wandering through the desert dying of thirst. Stumbling across two men who offer some cool water, he thanks them and says that he really had a taste for some Stroh's. They comment "... there goes a real beer lover" as the camera pans back. Wonderful stuff! (If you could find and post a print of this, I'd be forever grateful to see it again!)

Great to see all those old Stroh's commercials again ... I miss seeing the brewery sign as you'd head downtown on I-75

I remember the Stroh's commercial where a guy leaves his stroh's in a taxi, the taxi takes off and the guy is running so fast his shoes are smoking after he catches the cab lol. I'd love to see that one again.

I remember one Stroh's spot from the 70s.. In a crowded club a xylophonist attempted to play the "One Beer Lover to Another" jingle on a line of snifter glasses, each glass filled to a different level (with Stroh's, of course) to get a different note when struck by a mallet. When he got to the last note the glass sounded a bad note-- the glass was suddenly empty, the xylophonist was embarrassed, and one customer with a coy smile tried looking the other way..

I think the black guy in the hard hat Stroh commercial played a cop in Martin Scorsese's movie Mean Streets, and the Italian looking guy (Nick) looks familiar too. Nice commercials!

8:30 Construction workers openly pounding beers at lunch time? Geez, you'd get fired for doing that today. The actor who played "Caesar" is actually Harry Caesar who was in dozens of films and TV shows most noticeably in the 1974 version of "The Longest Yard."

I'm from Michigan and I remember Stroh's very well. I'm no longer back in Michigan, so I ask, do they still make Stroh's? The other one I remember from my childhood was Goebel 22 with Brewster the Goebel Rooster.

All these Stroh's commercials boasting their "family tradition" are a bit depressing considering how that brand collapsed and its family lost both its business and its fortune. Over-expansion, over-paying for already declining brands, and an inability to compete with Miller, Coors, or Anheuser-Busch destroyed Stroh's. By the late 90's, the family fortune had been lost due to bad management, poor investments (tied in with Detroit's collapse) and gross extravagance among too many heirs who were just cashing dividends' checks.

You would think that someone with money and knowledge of beer would revive the Strohs name in the Detroit Metro area.
