James Forrest has been a fantastic servant for Celtic and proved his worth yet again yesterday. However, this time last year he was 5th or 6th choice winger in a treble winning squad. He's now a year older and is arguably our best winger! Now on the one hand that's fair play to James Forrest but it also says everything about how much the quality in our squad has regressed in 12 months. It's the same story with Liam Scales. He was out on loan last season when the treble was being won and was probably 5th or 6th choice CB. Now 12 months later he's 2nd choice CB behind CCV. Again fair play to Scales but also once again shame on the recruitment team at Celtic!

The problem of playing so badly against Dundee is that all other top six teams see that we are fragile. Celtic haven't got a settled team which can play the high speed, passing game which gets lots of goals. The three points gained yesterday came as a result of two bits of skill from Forrest. Kyogo looks miserable. He's not getting the ball played to him in the box, so he ends up going deep into midfield. It's going to be a tough end to the season for Celtic if that's how they play.

We're now at the stage of the season where there is not much point in analysing performances in any great detail because all that matters now is 3pts. Did we get the 3pts Yes/No ? We're 34 league games in to the season, we all know there are glaring weaknesses throughout this squad but those weaknesses aren't going to magically get better in the next 4-5 games. As soon as the full time whistle goes on May 25th, we need to be asking for some serious improvements all over the squad in the summer. But until May 26th we just need to engage in a bit of blind optimism that we'll see it through

Apart from the first 20 minutes the word that comes to mind is “chaotic”. I was a complete bag of nerves. We are in pole position but my oh my it would not take much to swing it away from us again. Really not sure if I can take it at my age.

We’ve seen it all season with this team. They will show up in the big games and we will win this title. We’ll beat the rangurs twice and go on to win the double. No need to stress folks🙄💚🍀💚

Jeezo, that was a slog in the 2nd half, especially...3 very hard fought points. When (?!) are we going to start firin' on even 2 out of 4 cylinders? re; CalMac - Is the Bhoy ok? He seems really physically weak. We really have got to start playing better. And soon... Thanks, as always, Hamish, for your spot-on, post-match analysis. #COYBIG

I think the nervousness off the fans in this title challenge in a long time can spread to the players . I think McGregor has been carrying these injuries most of the season

We weren't great but we were the width of the post away from going 3-0 up and cruising to an easy win. The first post-Ange season was always going to be a struggle. The gaffer will deserve huge credit if we get this over the line.

We haven’t been great most of the season tbh but I still think we have enough in the tank to get over the line in the league and even the cup. We really need to invest in the squad in the summer but not fringe players we need guys to come in and start straight away. We could go blow our rivals out the water by spending big for a change. Doubt it will happen but this is our chance to go on another dominant run for the years to come. We have the money to do it but the board don’t seem to want to spend it.

Rodgers fans were saying it was a great appointment as he would come in and make the young players better. The fact we are relying on Forrest to win us games tells its own story about the best paid manager in celtics history.

@@hailparadise88 My argument was about making the players already there better. But even if we go with your argument about not being backed, celtic spent about 20million and Rodgers says no player was bought without him having the final say, so how can you argue he wasnt backed. We are playing against teams with a tiny fraction of our budget and the football more often than not is garbage.

It's all about the three points in these games now. If we can beat Hearts and Rangers at home in the next two games then the title is ours and that should be doable with the squad we've got. The Ibrox club are flattering to deceive and with the "patterns of assistance" they've had they're lucky to be in a title race, in fact they'd be struggling to be a top six side without them. I think if we beat Hearts they could drop points against Kilmarnock next Sunday and Killie have beat both sides this season and I'd like us to have beaten Hearts and Rangers before having to play Killie in the midweek game at Rugby Park a week on Wednesday so it could be a title party down there. Having said all that it's one game at a time, three points at a time and hopefully power over the line with as little fuss as possible, these next two home games are the league title deciders and if we win them then we're champions again HH

Midfield of McGregor, Hatate and O'Riley awful. Iwata should start every game.

The midfield drops out during the game and ends up on top of the defence. The change of Cal Mac with Iwata improved the midfield pushing up. Kuhn and Hatate got 90 mins in. Great strikes from wee Jamesy. It's a struggle but they got the job done. 3 points up the road. NEXT.

Everyone is commenting on the football we are playing and it’s not pretty, it hasn’t been pretty since BR took over from AP. They have different styles of playing football. When Brendan took over, I honestly said that we’re back to this boring football of booting the ball upfield and hope you come up with it. But we’re still grinding out the victories, it’s not Angeball but the checkmark is still in the “W” column.

O’RIley has been shocking since the window, but never dropped, Calmac my favourite also very poor lately, only CCV, hatate, Calmac, Kyogo and daizen have shown they should be 1st team next season given O’riley will be away, another major clear out required

the most depressing thing is even if this lot somehow stumble over the line, the amount of work needed to fix the squad will barely be scratched in the summer the regression of Callum McGregor seems to be accelerating, being stuck with him for another 5 years as top earner is just horrific squad management, Iwata is rotten as well, his passing is absolutely shocking, but at least his legs havent gone and he only points 50% as much as mcgregor

Kyogo is realising its pointless making runs as the service from the wingers and midfield is embarrassing to say the least. That said he is still a better lone option than Idah. The best option would probably be to play both as a partnership but Rodgers refuses to do this which is baffling as the wingers have all been poor.

We knew at the start of the season what we were handed. Rejects and projects and i think the board counted on beale being the idiot he was for a season. They took a gamble and its very close to backfired by means of league and cups but the supporters now have more hatred for them.baldy has got them better than they were and now we have a title race with a 💩 team. Investment must be made to the point where most players here seen as first team are back up, keep the core punt the rest
