When I was 12, my 11 year old best friend was murdered while him and his dad were fishing. They were loading the boat up and some men approached them and ordered them back out.. They shot both of them in the head twice and dumped them in the Tennessee River.. This was in a small railroad town of Cherokee, Alabama. They took the truck and boat, hid the boat in the woods about 19 miles off use the truck the following day in a bank robbery in Belmont, Mississippi. Afterwards they set the truck on fire and used a second getaway car. . Between the four men.. They got about 46k..That's only $11,500 per person.. That's what a kids life was worth.. 11 grand. This was July of 1997.. The Pugh Murders. Ever since I've wanted a career in Law Enforcement and eventually move up to Investigator when a specialty in... you guessed it.. Homicide and Robbery. At 21 I started applying to agencies all over... Not one of them wanted me.. I'm 37 now.. 16 years.. and no one would still take me.. 16 years of constant failure at what you really wanted to do.. 16 years of being told no.. that you're not good enough. 16 years that I failed my best friend and myself for unknown reasons.
