    If you want to know a trick to convert pounds to kg, do this: Half the amount of pounds and then subtract ten percent from that halved numbers. Example: 120 (pounds) divided by 2 = 60 (10 percent of 60 is 6) 60 - 6 is 54. 120 pounds is 54 kilos. It works the other way around if you want to convert kg to pounds (double, then add ten percent of doubled number)

    It's what you use to position the log on your face for the appropriate finisher position. Finisher is also the appropriate term, because when you drink more beer than a mere mortal and call for your woman, she'll recall where you had that much weight and ask you to finish her.

    That why in Oly lifting double dip is a red light on a jerk if you over occelate the bar , some really smart lifters still work around it and use it to their benefit. Kurlovich used to jerk so fast after his cleans they looked damn near like a thruster. It just shows how difficult the log is where Clarence has cleaned 230kgs.

    I think the best event if you wanted to directly compare weightlifters to strongmen would be sandbag throwing. It's a pretty simple motion that weightlifters are already strong at and really tests explosiveness. You could have Lasha vs Thor right now and it would be as fair a comparison of strength as you could get.

    The parallel grip doesn't help the power jerk, in a normal power jerk you would push through and internally rotate the shoulders but you reach a good lock cause of the grip. The lock isn't there with the log. Also the distance between the grips is the same for everyone so for a short guy with short arms and torso the log will rest higher and than Zack's low log. Zack has a lot of distance to clean and his hips are higher than the log which makes it even harder. Huge guys need the power belly or to create one by bracing on the log or else it's not happening.

    Just noticing the log has some similarities to the muscle up in how you have to shift the weight quickly through your wrists

  • @xlr8442

    @xlr8442

    That's only for explosive muscle ups. For a strict muscle up, you would start with a false grip so your grip does not change at all throughout the movement
