    Agree language evolution is cool and I think it's a part of humanity to continuously evolve and change, even if it's not in the most optimal direction. That said, not being able to understand the little psychos makes me feel old, but I also feel better knowing that if the grid goes out tomorrow I have a head start.

    @@hibitterness5990 as someone who understands these words, you have called them as someone who's bum is basically a cryptid, prefers to jork it long-term, but is extremely charismatic. Definitions \/ Rizzler - Derived from "rizz," itself a heavy shortening of "charisma." Refers to someone who is extremely charismatic or good at attracting partners. Gooner - Derived from "goon." Refers to someone who prefers to jork it over long enough time periods to put themselves in a trance-like state. Ohio - When used as an adjective, generally refers to something of outlandish or cryptic nature. Gyatt - Derived from a heavy shortening of "god damn." Refers to buttocks of noticably large size. The only major gen-alpha term that doesn't really seem to have a clear definition at the moment is the (usually) adjective "skibidi." I don't really know if that word's situation is a novel concept; I think "yeet" was in that kind of definition limbo for a while, so I forsee "skibidi" gaining some clear definition in the future.

    Clara making my brain go into overdrive just like Bloodborne. If evolution is adapting, what is the language adapting to beat? The language barriers itself? If it continues to evolve, do we end up having a single language in say, 1000 years? Tower of Babel round 2.

    During the human history, every major language evolved to become more simple to everyone can understand it and use it for communication. So in case of english there are at least two reasons to simplify itself: 1. Fast pace of modern life sets a tendency to use short words and acronyms. 2. English is an international language, so every non native speaker will distort meaning of some words or even giving new. Funny that in my native language word "terrific", that Clara used as example, also could have been used in negative meaning according to root word.

  • @zomfgroflmao1337
    @zomfgroflmao13373 ай бұрын

    Clara is kind of right, but what she is not saying is that, while SOME of youth language gets into the language spoken by everyone, it is only a small part of what young people use when talking amongst each other. So while some new words come with every generation, a lot falls to the side before being adopted into the wider language pool.

    Hoooly that thumbnail, perfectly encapsulates the inescapable dread lmao. The background music is waay to loud, louder than the acceptable background volume. The horns legitimately drown out the conversations when they appear, is it your addition or is it from the stream? If it is the former, i suggest turning it down a few couple notches. Back to the clip, Clara saying Airi is a boomer for hating new gen language is moot, we love hags round these parts, no matter what they be yapping. On an unrelated note, yooo met you playing TF2 in a hongkong server a week ago. Sorry for cringe-ly assuming you as tf2tuber, i remember vividly that the channel Cpt. Sourcebird has this scout face just front facing as the channel profile picture, so my mind just went to assuming that lmao. Gotta say though, you played some good spies, monsieur.
