I grew up with the Beatles. Saw them on the Ed Sullivan show Feb/64. I'm heading for 72 now. i remember like it was just a few years ago running down to Caldors (long since closed) a department store in Brookfield Ct to buy the new George Harrison triple album "All things must pass". What a beautiful person he was. He was on his death bed when Ringo came to visit. Ringo told him he had to see Yoko in New York. George asked him if he wanted him to go with him. Can you imagine that? Can make you misty to think of that.

This is by far one of my favorite songs as it is so true. It is a pity that we can't just love each other. It's really not that complicated, yet people make life so hard for each other. Isn't it a pity.

Used to play this song on the piano in the early 70’s. I just assumed it was a Beatles tune bcuz it sounded similar. I was only 25% correct. It was much easier to play then “Beware of Darkness” which was too hard for me. Sheryl Crowe does an excellent rendition of it with Belinda Carlisle. The day George passed way, I was driving home from work when I heard it on the radio. I had to pull off the road bcuz I was crying. When the Beatles first came out & were on Ed Sullivan I was barely 9. I loved Paul & George. I even had a card (like a baseball crd) of George! I had a funky poster of Paul I took from my older brother. I often vacillated between the two. It was too hard to pick a favorite. Geo. was such a sweet, loving soul that graced us with his gift of music. It was a special time in the 60’s, to be witness to the music revolution was so exciting!

Bought this 2-dvd set years ago just after it came out (Guitar Fest, Chicago, Bill Murray mc’d)...and this particular song haunts me. You can just feel George in this. Lots of now-passed blues legends on this as well (The entire DVD is unreal.)

Great Harrison song; great tribute. I saw Derek Trucks (an Allman Bros offspring) when he but a TEN YEAR KID fronting his own smoking band in a PACKED Orlando bar. He’s a prodigy...a brilliant slide guitarist-maybe the best in the world, next to Duane and George....he got da genes!

reminds me of my mom ,may she rest in peace she played all things must pass 10000 times when I was a just a kid.
This album came out in 1970 and I got married 2 months later. I still listen to it with so much love

Well he played electric guitar on the original, the beautiful ‘Version Two’ of the song that’s included in Harrison’s ‘All Things Must Pass’ album and also played the same song in ‘Live in Japan’ with George. Anyway I agree. Great slide by Derek Trucks
This is by far one of my favorite songs as it is so true. It is a pity that we can't just love each other. It's really not that complicated, yet people make life so hard for each other. Isn't it a pity.
Used to play this song on the piano in the early 70’s. I just assumed it was a Beatles tune bcuz it sounded similar. I was only 25% correct. It was much easier to play then “Beware of Darkness” which was too hard for me. Sheryl Crowe does an excellent rendition of it with Belinda Carlisle. The day George passed way, I was driving home from work when I heard it on the radio. I had to pull off the road bcuz I was crying. When the Beatles first came out & were on Ed Sullivan I was barely 9. I loved Paul & George. I even had a card (like a baseball crd) of George! I had a funky poster of Paul I took from my older brother. I often vacillated between the two. It was too hard to pick a favorite. Geo. was such a sweet, loving soul that graced us with his gift of music. It was a special time in the 60’s, to be witness to the music revolution was so exciting!

First heard this when I was 15 when it came out, thought it was a great song without understanding it,add 55 years and now it is well understood.
Derek was in a different stratosphere that night, Clapton played his ass off that night also. The two of them together is the best duo in the music industry!
There’s no better way for Eric to honor his friend than to play this beautiful song only as Eric does❤

905if6was9 maybe not but there is definitely an awesome version of this by Local H. you should check it out. its a bit more rocking and not quite so mellow but still beautiful. and still great to know that Harrison is still influencing the younger gens.
And a wonderful Chris Stainton on keyboards.
Some things take so long! But how can I explain when not too many people can see where all the same and because of all their tears their eyes can't hope to see the beauty that surrounds them isn't it a pity?

Bought this 2-dvd set years ago just after it came out (Guitar Fest, Chicago, Bill Murray mc’d)...and this particular song haunts me. You can just feel George in this. Lots of now-passed blues legends on this as well (The entire DVD is unreal.)
