Good awareness video but would help to see difference between crab hole and clam hole

I went looking for one and, didn't find any. I have found them before. The holes are already exposed and, not from pounding the sand. As I said on the video I have ran into crab the same as anyone else. When I hit the crab at 3 inches I back off the clam gun and, dig with my finger to see that it's a crab. From there I have to learned leave it alone.

I run into these during the early digs of each year. I simply just go easy for the first few inches and if I feel anything at all I move on to the next hole. You can also scrap the sand out a bit and find em by hand. I also make sure to point it out and teach others.

This year was the first year I've encountered a significant amount of female dungees during my clam digs. Usually I'd only find 1 a season.

Yes this year I found many more crab buried in the sand than I ever have. Maybe they were unusually close to shore this fall.

@seasonaloutdoorswitherin297 there could be a large number of things going on. I just don't understand why people feel the need to shove clam guns down so hard. It doesn't do any good. If anything you just increase your chance at breaking clams

Thank you it was needed.

Fortunately I’ve only done that once in 20 years of digging. Does it happen more at night?

I do believe this only happens this bad at night and, not this bad very often.
