Claire Wineland & Her Legacy & Wisdom From A Life With Cystic Fibrosis
Claire Wineland wont let living with Cystic Fibrosis stop her, she's surviving and thriving! Kirsty interviews one of the most inspiring teens you'll ever meet. Claire is an inspiration to all people coping with Cystic Fibrosis and everyday challenges. She's the founder of Claire's Place Foundation (clairesplacefoundation.org/), author of her book, Every Breath I Take, Surviving and Thriving With Cystic Fibrosis, a speaker at TED Talks and a guest on many talk shows. I am honored to share her inspiring and truly amazing story here on Kirsty TV.
When I first met Claire it was at a TED talk. This 15 year old pocket rocket had the room in the palm of her hand and was giving them a little whopping to wake up and see what is important in life. I knew I had to interview her. There are few people who live with the kind of day to day challenges Claire does with such a zest for life.
She has had more surgeries and hospitalizations than she can count and has survived a 17-day coma, yet through all of her many challenges, she continues to spread joy. She has been called a "little Buddha"and a "true old soul." I hope we can all learn to see life's challenges and problems through Claires eyes. To get to a place of acceptance and gratitude for all that this wonderous life is here to teach us the good and the bad.

I have cystic fibrosis. I'm still going very strong though I'm almost an adult. My lung function is above the average healthy person and I'm enjoying life riding dirtbikes and going hunting. With CF, it doesn't matter how healthy you are, it can take a bad turn and throw you in the hospital. They say I'll die in my 40s, I say I'll live until God calls me home

even though her complicated medical condition, she looks very happy and show us how to face obstacles with a positive attitude. Awesome girl, a great inspiration.

She is only 15?? So amazingly wise for that age, I wish I had known those things back then.
Kristy My 16 year old Granddaughter also has CF. Recently her team raised over $10K for CF foundation. She also has the same positive a bright outlook on life that Claire has. Beautiful people set the example for all of us every day
She is the best example of going on and overcome challenges, it’s really great how she see life she is always happy and have this kind of energy to confront every aspects in her life and try to see the best of everything, she is really inspirational

I love this girl so much. It kinda breaks my heart she’s told now she has a year left, maybe a bit more if she gets lung transplant. She’ll be good regardless you can see god all around her.

I think is a great story of personal superation, I admire the way she thinks about life and her attitude about her disease. It's a good example oh how we can overcome problems with the best energy

HOW IN THE WORLD CAN A 15 YEAR OLD KID HAVE ALREADY REACHED SELF-ACTUALIZATION ? The majority of people never reach self-actualization in their lifetime. I don't know how it can be possible that she did it, But here she is CLAIRE WINELAND at age 15.
