Look at the influences. Deron was playing tech death as a teenager and Chad was learning dog shit like GG Allin.

CKY isn't just guitar. Chad took music production classes, so it's likely the synth that CKY is known for comes from Chad.@@anomalyLG

I know Vern wasn’t a good as bass player as future guys cky had but I love the style he had on stage, he was definitely a performer, not sure of how great a musician but he’s a damn good performer, it’s 2003 and he’s walking up to the camera like he’s been in that band for 10 years plus. To bad he couldn’t get his drinking and time management under control

I was at this show. Saw every CKY show that come through the Anaheim area in 2003 and 2004

Going to see CKY on May 15th in Ft Wayne. I really wish they had reunited with Deron for this 25 year anniversary tour but no luck.

Might have been at this show; I remember seeing them at least twice in this venue around that time period. Middle school years!

Sometimes it's better that way. It keeps very personal. Like something that cannot be intoxicated with the mainstream. Feel happy that you know cKy. It's a very underrated band.

cig doesnt suck, he does have talent for music. hes written some fantastic songs. dude was just a major gg allin fanboy at the time & was motivated to be him. if anything that phase affected how he played cuz he was blackout drunk off jim beam all the time

@@bradpitychad sucks. They can’t even play disengage anymore without deron. (Go find the last live video of chad strumming a few power chords and grumbling through the song and try to argue me on it. Deron was better than that when he was intoxicated) you could recognize cky songs live without a backing track. Guess who uses them now? Not deron. Any producer could do what chad did in the studio. Most have to put in even more work to get todays shitbags to sound remotely good. So working with deron doing everything besides the drums AND sounding good was probably a cakewalk. Half the time on stage, chads fingers are nowhere on the fretboard near anywhere they SHOULD be. He jumps around and does stupid guitar flips…funny thing is when he’s doing that shit, nothing ever sounds any different. Like his guitar is unplugged or turned down 95% of the time. People give Lars ulrich shit for Metallica carrying him through his whole career…at least Lars wrote a lot of metallicas music. Chad fanboys only have the “solo in flesh into gear” to cling to. I don’t even think it was an ONLY chad idea. It’s just the only thing they ever came up with in the studio. While it sounds pretty cool, it’s not too far off from riffs I wrote when I was 16 years old. Watch cky currently. it’s like a cky cover band. Chad dicked around all those years and instead of doing something with himself, he piggybacked off of deron and now that deron is gone, he had to grow up real fast. If that song “replaceable” is about deron, it’ll make it even funnier because it just shows how he’s absolutely not replaceable. And no, I’m not a deron fanboy. I like his music. 96BB is way better than “cky” is now. But I get that deron can be a dick sometimes and can be hard to work with. We all can be at times. But no, not like some of those cringy dudes on the 96BB who try to justify every single thing deron has done and takes everything he says as gospel. But he is significantly more talented than chad. The octave pedal is literally the only cKy thing left in that band with the same name.
