Consider giving 'FreeCiv' a peek Is modeled off of Civ 4, I think, has been an open-source project with constant updates for more than 20 years now

Most of the time I spent watching this video I spent playing civ 6 as well.

Thank you, so much for this, because when I tried to play Civ6 on PC, the game was literally broken and I could not play more than a few turns before it froze and crashed, so I returned it in spite. At least videos like this let me enjoy the game vicariously.

I've seen a version of the no city challenge where they levied their early gold into loans with the AI to absolutely snowball their gold income. Definitely something worth incorporating into that strategy. Even more impressively, they managed it on the Cliffs of Dover in the middle of the ocean, so couldn't even explore the map

No way i get back onto this game after a year and spiff releases a stream the same day.

At first I thought I missed a stream. The reality I find to be more glorious. Edit: I watched around 1 hour the first day, 30 minutes the second, and now am bouncing in and out of it on my phone for the next 8 and a half hours at work on the third day of watching.
