    Zulu lives up to their reputation as warlike, and Spain get a repeat lesson in not picking on their neighbors. Germany continues to industrialize heavily, and shows a strong industrial foundation is beneficial both for culture, diplomacy, and science. Will Germany prove that their culture is superior? Will Spain finally have learned their lesson? Will Germany and England reignite their classic rivalry and become enemies? Only one way to find out! Turn in for the next episode, same Ursa time, same Ursa channel!

    I do such a bad job of building farms to help my cities grow. Seeing this layout of a “spine” of districts down the center and farms sprawling out everywhere else is pretty smart.

    I've mentioned this before, but it's always worth checking the production cost of a Send Aid project versus a Commercial Hub Investment. A send aid project gives each aid request 200 gold. That's great when the cost of a city project is cheap or when there's multiple aid requests out at once. But the cost of the project increases over time and the rewards don't, so it becomes less efficient the deeper into the game you get. On the other hand, a Commercial Hub Investment gives you 30% of it's production cost as gold. So when projects become expensive, you get more gold from it. In particular, If an investment project costs 667 production or more, you'll get more than 200 gold for working it. At which point it's more efficient to work a Commercial Hub project and donate the gold than it is to work a send aid project.

    Hey Ursa Ryan, love your content. Just one tip for easy improvement of your game play: check the empire map screen for city borders. Almost every play through of yours you have good tiles that belong to a city of yours, which cannot work it (out of reach of the 3 tile radius), and other cities who would be in reach to utilize the tile can't work it, because whilst the tile is within 3 tiles from the city center, it is in not within the designated city borders. Very easy to fix (two clicks) and almost always strictly better. For example in this game, the olives north of Aachen belong to Munich (the city can't work the tile), switch it to Aachen, and you gain a 4-1-2 tile. Also Munich is taking tiles from Trier, and Aachen is taking a tile from Magdeburg.

  • @Jonathanizer

    @Jonathanizer

    7 ай бұрын

    Okay, just arrived at 31:30 where you did it (in a few other games before you never did it). Nevertheless, you still left the Aachen-Olives in Munich, and Munich can't work it. I know it's such a small thing, but it's so easy to fix...

    Also Munich is taking away lots of water tiles from Berlin, and Berlin can't grow...

    @@UrsaRyan Hi, thanks for the answer, didn't even really expect it. I want to preface my response by saying, i really like your style, and i don't intend this to be any serious criticism, just a nitpicky discussion between passionate Civ fans, who like to pay attention to details ;) I just mentioned it here, because i noticed this in multiple previous games of yours. I know you optimize lots of stuff off screen, and i appreciate you editing out the "boring" phases. Nevertheless: I watched the Yongle disaster-save-file videos (war vs Spain and Rome), and you activated the lense 1 or 2 turns before the end, and had lots of tiles in cities, that cannot work it. So you never fixed it the entire play through. Improved farm tiles with lots of food and such could not be used, because they belonged to large cites 4 or 5 tiles out, instead of the small city right next to it, which is struggling to grow. Again i want to stress, not meant to be a real criticism, your decision making and planning in general is top notch, it's just a little tip. Also, while i am at it, if you liberate a city, as you did in the Yongle game, you can minimize the pop up decision screen and swap all tiles (except the most inner ring and districts of the to be liberated city) to your own neighbouring city, before clicking on 'liberate'. You will still get all the benefits of liberating the city, even if you take tiles. This is not relevant for this Germany game, but it's a similar problem, you are missing out on yields (and potentially even luxuries and strategics) without any upside. Thanks again for answering, and keep doing your videos, i'll keep watching (usually late before bed, because watching this Civ content is somewhat relaxing). Best regards, Jonathan

    Could you explain (in a short maybe?) what are the differences between coal, oil or nuclear power plants? On paper, it seems that coal power plants are the best because they give the most production... And I usually build them because they come first and never upgrade them but It can't be that simple right? What's the advantages of oil/nuclear?

  • @Cyrikyty

    @Cyrikyty

    7 ай бұрын

    As far as I know, Coal gives the highest production to the city you build it in, based on adjacency. Oil gives a fixed +3 Production that spreads the same way the Factory does, and Nuclear is similar to Oil but also gives (and spreads to nearby cities) +3 science, but with the downside of meltdown risks. If you have really high adjacency it isnt worth getting oil or nuclear unless you have no coal, but if you have low adjacency it can be worth changing it up.
