this "i dont normally do this" of yours is actually a good sign, shows high adaptability in your gameplay. i reckon its actually not a good thing to proceed "normally" every game cause in a lot of situations that "normally" is the worse choice

@@UrsaRyan The flood one turn before dam repair in today's episode was the punishement, only a moderate flood, the crabs have been merciful it seems!

Ursa should do a only science victory game with deity++ with Sejong, Yongle, Kupe, Hammurabi, John Curtin and Robert the Bruce as the AI and Ursa will have to use Pericles

Enable secret societies and barbarian clans, set city states to max and proceed to build as many cities as possible to spam acropolis and commercial hubs/harbours. Campus can be the third districts, with 20 envoys per city state and insane culture per turn you can reach modern era civics way before the AI can reach modern era techs. With +5% science per city state overtaking the AI in tech is going to be trivial.

@helo_people one of the first ever sub 200 turns strategy was as Rome or Greece find a spawn with good land and the possibility for an 8 city Colosseum and loads of city states, get as much culture as possible and become suzerain of as many city states as possible and rush down to the +5% science per city state suzerain card. Together with stacking factories you could rush out the spaceship by around turn 160 if you had a really good start. My best was somewhere around 180 to 190 back then but there might still be youtube videos up from the people I emulated.

I disagree spies are bad without promotion. Usually you can just do the thing to increase their success rate then the steal gold one almost always goes through. Then after I promote it I switch to steal tech, or keep stealing gold. Your victor idea is interesting to promote them early, I just almost never get that governor card.

I always have new ones counter spy wherever Pingala is. They will stop the neutralize governor and level up. Depending on the promotion, then they go off on that particular mission. Repeat for the next new spy.
