I am often asked about why a property becomes abandoned and this is the perfect example. Unfortunately, after our loved ones pass, emotions can get high. This can be the cause of life time disputes that cause nothing but a litigation nightmare. This property has become abandoned, neglected and is now falling apart. The neighbor told be that it use to be one of the best kept houses on the block and now it is unlivable. BUT HEY, POSITIVE NOTE; I got another POLK COUNTY CODE VIOLATION LAWN SIGN to put up on the wall in my office. I love to take a souvenir here and there to remind me of the fun trips I do in other states. It's like if I was a big game hunter, it will one day be in my trophy room, like a big olé Rhino. Hahaha.

I can't help but notice you always read to the end of the description! this has literally become one of my favorite games to play in my videos. I know right! I sure wish I had one, in my neighborhood their is a Veteran I cut his yard once with my old tractor but it's too much for my old tractor. So I haven't been able to cut it sjnce. And I have another neighbor that cuts 3 times a year. I tried. 😊

@@TheBoringChannelLawnCare I used Toro products for 30+ years (mower and multihead/multipurpose trimmer/tiller/edger/etc). Toro is the best! Getting to be old farts, we downsized and our plot only needs a little work so we have gone to Ego-awesome quality, ease & durability-no disappointments! But the Toros passed to the kid and are still going strong. Your work is great! Wonderful for the community and neighborhood.
Kevin you are a hero! Not just for this property, not even for all your jobs, but for the inspiration you have been to so many others. You started a wonderful idea and now ALL the KZread ''free yard work' channels are helping so many people who need just a bit of help (and to know that someone cares). It's inspiring me to get a handle on my own yard. I let it get out of control and now I'm overwhelmed. I'm going to get a weed eater and worry about 1 sq ft at a time. Watching him bust these out makes me feel like I can too. ❤
(Ratoon).I used to love to work in my yard...mow, trim, till, plant gardens and flower beds. I had a pretty yard that I took pride in. Now I am old and can't do anything and it makes me angry and sad at the same time. I pay to have it mowed, but there are no longer flowers, flowering bushes, or anything of beauty. There are no fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, or peppers...just grass and weeds. I can't tell you how much I admire what you do, Kevin. Your work ethic is admirable and you bring beauty to the world one neglected, overgrown yard at a time. Thank you. BTW, I always watch every minute from beginning to end....I have found that works better to lower my blood pressure than all the pills in the world. 🙂

"Ratoon " I don't understand why the family of the deceased don't rent the home out . Then it gets people off the streets . I don't understand why families fight over possession's when a family member passes. All these homes you do and they are just left to fall apart . It's sad Keep up the great work Kevin

When my dad died we, my 3 siblings & I, had 3 rental properties to deal with, & let me tell you it was a nightmare. Renters leaving without paying, damages, vandals if the house sat unoccupied for 2 days, etc. What was worse was we all lived out of town so we didn't do checks that often, once a month was good. I can understand why they wouldn't do that. We sold my mom's house after her passing & split it 4 ways. Easie, peasie, done.

My situation: 3 siblings- 1 wants to “keep the property in the family”- flat out GIVE IT TO HER….With all the taxes & upkeep & NO REVENUE… the other 2 want to SELL! So, it ends up in court! Big “C” delay delay delay…Meanwhile, 1 of the 2 who wanted to sell, DIES! So then it goes to her inheritants (3 adult kids)… finally after that’s all set to go back to court, the only one who wants to keep the property and Not Sell… has done a dirty thing and Quit Claimed 1/2 of her 1/3 share to her Son! (btw, by this time back taxes of 2 years are owed! And my parents have been dead 5 years)…. This is EXACTLY how you get a BS situation on your hands….. tonz of Grief, Trauma, and BAD BLOOD, PERIOD! And if ALL THAT ISNT BAD ENOUGH….my sister will NOT allow a kindly volunteer neighbor to even mow the yard!

I've seen this time and time again, siblings fighting over, property just to watch it deteriorate. It's so sad, but at the least, you cleaned it up for the neighborhood. Looks beautiful 😍

This is another reminder to owners to be sure their papers for after death are updated and explicit. I’m always thankful my parents did.
I remember the very first video when you started this channel. Frustrated at those who said they wanted less talking and more hearing the mowers etc.which you said was boring thus, "The Boring Channel "was born. Even I. as I'm certain you are also, am amazed at how this channel has grown. You have done a great job with it Kevin!!!

I to am a survivor of sibling dispute. Had to separate my emotional state from the drama of it after my parents passed away. Haven't had contact with my brother since 2013 and forcefully had contact with a sister 4 times briefly since 2013. Sad but true. But calmer on my heart and nerves. ❤ Keep up with the wonder work you do. God bless you.

Our family went through the same thing but thankfully we were able to work it out. Not everyone was 100% happy, but at least we all get along well now. It would help if parents would make out a will so the kids don't have to fight over material things. Some die sudden and that's understandable to a point. But most should have a will if they are over 60. You can tell the kids the contents ahead of time so no surprises. Then if they get mad they can get mad at the parents and not their siblings.
On the local radio today they where asking people what do they do to help them fall asleep, there was lots that liked watching lawncare videos, the sound of mowing is so relaxing.

That's what really wealthy ppl should do fix up a couple of homes then just sell for a cheap affordable price, it wouldn't hurt them a bit.
Oh, please, Kevin, don't lose any fingers. My brother lost an eye when he was 9 because of that.
As a woman I love to work out in the yard it is very rewarding. I have been suffering with pain the last couple of years but si do what I can.
I’m so grateful to my mom and the family. She & her 5 siblings stayed close, took care of their parents and each other. We cousins grew up to be close as well. No drama with any inheritance (not that we had much). My parents divorced but remained civil so we kids could be close to both and to the extended families that came of their remarriages. I feel so fortunate when I see these stories of people whose families fractured over property.
You had a little boy. Are you getting to go see him? Time goes so fast now kids grow up. Hope you spend lots of time as a family man. That’s your most important job. ❤❤❤

The road trips without my family are so hard. Rachel and I decided I am done traveling without them. They will be going with me on all future trips so that I can go to work then spend time with them at the end of the day and days off

I'm not sure what the word were I was busy watching you. Something about ratoon. I watch you all the time. I'm a 73 year old woman and I used to take care of my own yard all the time. I used to have about an acre to care for. I still love being outside but with age I have to rely on my brother. But I do tell him what I want done with my yard. My husband has had 2 heart attack so he no longer can help at all we were both yard people but but with time and age we just can't do it anymore. And yes: I watch. Sometimes I turn a long video on because the humming is as calming as rain or soft music and I get some good sleep out of it. Sometimes I watch it to distract. Most of the time I like the story behind things and seeing things became beautiful again. Gives me motivation to clean my mess. Do like the talking better, tough. For actual watching. Always a lesson to learn.

Ratoon is Schössling in German, which is kind of weird. Ling at the end of a word, like Lein, usually makes something smaller, but Schoss is your lap! And since I never heard Ratoon before I am guessing that half of Americans would have no clue about it either.
