The loud streets and busy avenues drown in your thoughts. A silence from nowhere envelopes you like an angel swept down from heaven, whose soft wings bring you into a divine rêverie. The rain-soaked and moon-stained streets turn ethereal. Entire plazas become burnished mirrors where you see yourself reflected in thousands of colorless multitudes. Motionless, you stare into rivers of chrome that intertwine like silk into the seams of an omnipresent fabric - one from within whose creases you begin to see a goddess appear; floating in the stillness, her gossamer dress blooming slowly in the heavy air. She glares into the void as soft tears stream down her cheek like drops of mercury from a lonely star. She’s not heartbroken, but instead emotionless, lost in the feeling of numbness that comes and goes with the flux of her exquisite light. A somnolent nova whose fleeting luminosity gently caresses the city around you. Where avenues sing serenades to lost lovers with their soft concrete voices. Where searing alleyways birth embers of hope into abandoned hearts, and passing cars sound mellifluous whispers into the ears of idle romantics. The goddess, with a sudden change of expression (as if waking from a long dream) becomes incorporeal once again. Warm lights fall into your arms like amber wisps embracing your return into the glass abyss. Never lost and always returning; both dim and blinding, soft and fatal. The subtle, phosphorus kiss of a passing face in a taxi cab window. The dim, phantom embrace of a solitary street lamp. And little by little the city encases you like a voiceless jewel. Just a shadow, just an empty heart seeking oasis. Radiant and voiceless like a star exploding in the black-blue cold and depth of space... Are you that lonely goddess, City Girl? Are you the palliative for time's deep and loveless shadow?

IMO, this album is your best work by far, not even a close second. That isn't meant as a dis of your other works, its just...this album feels like it has a direction, a flow, a rhythm and an identity. Never looses itself in ethereal instrumentalism, being punctuated by the more complex vocal pieces and their inherent stories, but those vocal pieces are simultaneously woven together but those instrumental sections, with the mood never broken, only built upon, that of a quiet, personal revelation, something small yet explosive to the creator and listener...a somnolent nova, a sleeping explosion brighter than the output of any other star in the galaxy, but occurring where only a few can witness it. If I were more studied in music, I would be happy to fully dissect this album, but what I've written is as far as my abilities allow. I hope this didn't hurt too much to make.

My birthdays tomorrow and i must say. This is the best gift.

I didn't think it was possible to fall in love with an album, but here we are.

Some of these songs mean a lot to me Especially when I had a bit of a mental breakdown and remembered these songs while calling a friend during spring break being able to see the full moon shine over the tall towers in my area my cat by my side as we talked on and on Two of the songs in this playlist make me really emotional but in a happy/sad way

Nothing like writing a somber story of love, loss and sacrifice to an album as beautiful as this. It truly helps me harness the ability to write about the glimmer of life in the most laid back and relaxed way possible. It makes me feel like im walking the path I take my characters on. The grove just touches me. 10/10 once again, gurl. 10/10 once again.

"into my arms" has quickly become my favorite track off the whole album. its got such a lovely chord progression and pretty instrumentation and the vocals are so cool and like, experimental or sparse yanno? like, you used em as an instrument almost and it's the most heavenly melody i've ever heard. kudos to you for making ENORMOUS AMOUNTS of reverb actually fit without sounding excessive. it's so clever and perfect and beautiful. the whole album is. you're an inspiration city girl.

City Girl, you already know from my email how much in debt I am to you for inspiring my latest art book. Thank you again for sharing what you do. I can't wait to have this playing during my next road trip! Edit: Oh gosh, "Phantom Embrace" is my Peanut-butter and *Jam*.

I just discovered this and I can't get enough

It's midnight and i'm walking through the city. The sidewalk catches in the street light and it sparkles like it contains the entire galaxy. In a way, it does. Suddenly i'm lost between worlds, the city around me and the stars that surround me. My soul has been sung to sleep and my heart tugs with longing. Can you fall in love with a moment? I feel ethereal, noncorporeal, like the edges that contain my form have disappeared into the whispers of the cold wind, dissipated into the winter air. I close my eyes and feel at peace. this is my favorite album of yours so far, and one of my favorite lo fi mixes to date. Its really different from your other sounds and other things i've heard -- it has the comfort of lofi but at the same time, it has such an immersive interstellar feel. Thank you

Thank you so much City Girl. I worked in the electronic music festival industry at a fairly high level for years and got to listen to thousands of producers both for pleasure and work, and since then I have been hunting for the magic, always looking for the thing that sings the right energy into life for me, and here in your music I think I have found that. Every album is a masterpiece to me. I bump this shit every day. Can't wait to add this to the mix!

This album guides my novel writing. I love it. These songs go with the soft neon lights, the quiet streets at night, and the subtle caress of the rain hitting the empty soulless concrete, dancing in my mind.

I swear this album is just pure bliss from start to end. Into My Arms is my favourite track followed by Phantom Embrace

I think it's my favourite album, the way those wisps blow gently across my eardrums. It's the softest mellowest embrace of air just puffing against my eardrums. Like your music breathes, oddly enough. It's breath is it's cadence too, and it all comes together. Your music gives me faith in the lofi genre to not just be the same stale 3 jazz chords and beats. It is so damn refreshing.

absolute magic. your music means a lot to me. I play it to get by when I'm stuck in traffic, cold mornings, putting my daughter to sleep, and ambient bedtime music when we go camping outdoors - friends love it, the music seemed like a warm blanket against the cold breeze and was very calming especially with the sound of the leaves rustling.

I love the wintery feeling of some of the songs. Gossamer Dress (7:23) strongly reminds me of Yume Nikki (the snow world and pink sea) in the first half of the song, which makes it even better! This is beautiful, and I feel like you're getting better and better. Keep it up!
