Citroen’s C5 Aircross is, according to Citroen, an SUV. Except it’s not really, because it’s a little bit more gentle than that.
Instead of faux-bulk and any kind of latent aggression, the C5 gives off a kind of rounded, happy science fiction vibe. Yes, it’s chunky, with the Citroen signature ‘AirBumps’ on the sides giving some texture, but there’s a definite lean towards keeping things comfortable and practical - and that’s a good thing.
The recipe is PHEV-familiar, in that there’s a 1.6-litre, 180bhp four-cylinder petrol engine up front driving through an eight-speed automatic gearbox, between which is sandwiched an 80kW electric motor. There’s a 13.2kWh battery that supplies it giving variously middle-of-the-range acceptable figures: around 34-miles on electric-only range, 225bhp of possible power, a theoretical 166mpg and a C02 figure of around 32/33g/km depending on the spec of the car you choose.

Did I miss the price?
How come you still can’t get LED headlights on ANY model of C5 Aircross in right-hand-drive markets like the UK, even as an option like you can in left-hand-drive markets? Here, we have to make do with old-fashioned halogen headlights like on an old Rover Metro - welcome to the 1990’s!
At this price point (and lower) you can't ignore the id3, Premium badge Petrols, a van based people carrier or..... this thing's vastly cheaper petrol brother. I like it, I really do, but it's a tough sell.

A tip: you can watch movies at InstaFlixxer. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.

I just bought a Kia Sportage and with Sports suspension on UK roads I;m regretting it.... I tempted that after 2 months I dump the KIa and go C5
What about fuel consumption? Did I miss that?
That would do better than the GMC Terrain here in the US.
