    At 1.00 your prime lens is very dirty, this could effect your end result , generally always have a UV and or variable ND on it for protection against scratching of lens and cheaper to replace than a expensive lens , 2nd the ND fliter helps with smoothing out should do any movement

  • @VisionaryFilmStudios

    @VisionaryFilmStudios

    4 ай бұрын

    I definitely wouldn’t use it as a substitute for color correction / color grading. But imo it gives you a better starting point for doing your grade. Generally for most videos though, I don’t actually grade the footage. I just do a quick color correction and call it a day. When I’m editing a film I definitely do, or for big commercials I do. But for social media content (including my KZread videos) I pretty much never do.

    If you’re already being intentional about your color settings, you may not need to worry about it. Maybe just set one of the other picture profiles to what I showed in the video and compare to see if you like what you’re using now or my settings better. Specifically I’d be looking at skin tones and which represents color a little more naturally. Also pay attention to image sharpness, as the zve10 tends to be a bit over sharp. Hi! I found your video as I am considering to buy the ZVe10, and the research part of it is getting me a bit confused and indecisive, I've seen many things about the rolling shutter and it got me a bit worried. My main focus is filmmaking, but I'd also like to take good photos. Do you think it is apropriate for a beginner filmmaker to start shooting projects? Thanks!

  • @VisionaryFilmStudios

    @VisionaryFilmStudios

    8 ай бұрын

    Hey! To answer you're question directly, the ZVe10 is my number 1 camera recommendation for filmmakers looking to spend less that $2k on their camera! As far as the rolling shutter, if you do a lot of whip pans or handheld shots with no stabilization and that sort of thing you'll definitely see the rolling shutter come out in the footage. In the case of whip pans, the bit of distortion during the pan really doesn't matter to me personally- its only on for a few frames. When it comes to the handheld shots, I'd recommend not really shooting a lot of handheld shots on the ZVe10 with no stabilization- I'd use a monopod or a tripod or the active stabilization in the camera or a gimbal or something like that. Using any of those options, the rolling shutter really isn't even going to be something you ever notice while using the camera. When it comes to still photography, I've used it for some photography and the rolling shutter has never ruined a photo for me. Maybe if you're going to shoot a lot of high action events (like sports) it could present an issue for sure, but outside of that I wouldn't worry about it at all. Not to drop spoilers but... I'm actually in the process of shooting a short film on the ZVe10 right now that will release on this channel in a few weeks along with a TON of bts on how I made a film with the ZVe10. Haven't announced it anywhere yet though so keep that on the DL 😉

    Not going to lie- you might have a better eye for color than me XD My goal was to match the s Cinetone profile of Sonys higher end cameras. I shoot a lot on the a7Siii and a7iv and pretty exclusively use the s Cinetone profile, so I just wanted my e10 to match fairly easily. As far as white balance, I definitely recommend always using manual white as I feel like at least on this camera a human will always do better than the ai. Not sure how big of a difference that would make on your eye color though.

    How to edit the result of the colour if i'm using ur camera settings ?

  • @VisionaryFilmStudios

    @VisionaryFilmStudios

    9 ай бұрын

    These color settings will help make it so you have to make less corrections to color in editing. Usually all I have to do is correct the exposure a bit if I shot to dark, increase the contrast a bit, and/or warm up the color temp slightly. You may end up needing to tint the footage slightly towards magenta while editing as the camera does tend to run towards a green tint, but this won’t always be the case so you’ll just have to take it on a case my case basis.

  • @VisionaryFilmStudios

    @VisionaryFilmStudios

    5 ай бұрын

    Happy 2024! So with 4k 30 you can slow it down to 80% speed, which definitely will give it a little bit of a dreamy look but won't look like you normally think of slow motion. To do real slow motion you'll have to do either 1080p 60fps (which you can slow to 40%) or 120fps (20%). Don't stress too much about the lower resolution though, in my experience the quality still looks awesome!

    @@KikaruSatomi great question! Sort of depends on what you’re shooting. If you’re shooting a narrative film / short film, usually a normal 24fps is best. Then just use slow motion if you want to slow a moment down or emphasize something. If you’re shooting a bunch of b roll to turn into a hype video or something like that, I’d pretty much always shoot in slow motion so that you can choose when you’re editing what clips you want to be in slow motion and what you want in real time speed. As far as 60fps vs 120fps, it really just depends on the speed of what you’re shooting and how much you want to slow it down. I’ve found 60fps is perfect for most things and 120fps is great for special instances when you really want to drag something out or if you’re shooting something that happens really fast (like someone running for example. I actually made a video last year (2022) about shooting in slow motion! Hey great question! Chances are, you’re iso is set too high on the camera. If you’re shooting in an automatic exposure mode, the camera will likely be doing that in darker environments (like indoors) when the f stop is higher (which the f stop will go up when you zoom in using the kit lens that comes with the camera. I made a video that goes into detail on this, here’s a link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h32qqpNwgbiamaQ.htmlfeature=shared The quickest fix for you is probably either to add some more light to your environment so you can lower your iso, or shoot wide where you can have a lower aperture and by extension a lower iso level.
