Thankyou for finally demystifying Redshift with such a clear and practical tutorial - as someone who used C4D 20 years ago and has only just got back into it, I was utterly confused by the way RS is integrated into the program. Now I feel like I'm starting to know what I'm doing. It's ridiculous that the actual company that makes the software can't make such useful instructional videos and we have to rely on the generosity of people such as yourself. Thanks again.

Just want to extend a huge thanks for your effort and your generosity. Maybe it’s because I’ve been looking at textures for a while now and it’s all coming together but I do think you’ve explained it better than anyone else…and all in one video. 👌

This is an excellent breakdown of the fundamentals, thanks so much. I needed to switch to Redshift from Octane quickly mid-project, and this has saved me hours of trial and error and fiddling. Subscribed!

Color space on textures like roughness, bump and displacement (always grayscale or BW images) is best set to raw. I never use auto.

Thank you! PLease make a video for the other nodes and explain them. Also I'd appretiate if you explain Vertex map material redshift.

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean convert materials from standard/physical renderer to Redshift materials?

Switch to RS Renderer in the Render settings Material -> Tools -> Convert and replace all Materials Be sure to turn off RS Render View and save your project before converting. RS is a bitch.

I think that card might not meet the minimum requirements for the current version of Redshift.

I just went from version 20 to this and wow just wow. I can't believe they changed it this much......Red shift is awful it takes forever to render and the lighting went from simple to use to a mess.

While the speed can depend on your system, Redshift is the most used renderer for Cinema 4d and you won't find too many people who have a lot of bad things to say about it. Each renderer has its flaws though.
