Before she explained it, I thought the blue fabric that bundles up under the corset would drop down into a full skirt, but this transformation really took me by surprise. The pink is lovely, the skirt looks so snazzy when she's spinning.

I think the purpose of the blue roll is to act as a 'filler' - to bolster out the sides of the ball gown since she can't wear heavy petticoats

It's really cool because it's completely different and eye-catching this way! It looks magical enough to make you gasp at the reveal whereas blue dropping down wouldn't have had the same spectacular effect either for the colour contrast or for highlighting exactly what is going on and how vast the transformation actually is. Having blue in the original also adds some nice colour to her usual outfit and makes her stand out more as a main character even while her clothes are supposed to be plain, shown by the muted colours of the first dress.

Everytime I watch these kind of videos, I question now " How long will it take to put it back?? "

Ikr, like it's stupid to argue that the dress color is bad (This is a different version/interpretation of Cinderella, they can do whatever the want. Plus it just undermines the pure hard-work and talent that went into making the dress and transformation). But I've yet to see a single comment saying it was bad, which is even weirder

Well, I've actually never seen the Disney version of Cindrella (yeah, don't judge me 😂). I'm from the CZ and there is no "blue dress history". I had a book where the dress was golden, in other one it was green. I don't really care. The only think I can say is, that I'm just endlessly impressed by this!! 👏

The original dress from the movie was actually silver/white, not blue. It got rebranded as blue for marketing because Disney didn’t want a bunch of little girls dressing up in what could be mistaken as a wedding gown :)

The design and flat out engineering for this piece is astounding. It needs to be reusable, endure dancing and other performance rigors, cover everything, and still be light enough to not hinder the performer while looking elegant. Well done seamstresses and seamsters.

There is an old version of the Cinderella story where she attends 3 balls on 3 nights to meet Prince Charming. 1st night pink dress 2nd night blue, 3rd night silver/white. That's the night she's late and loses the slipper. That may also be the version where the sisters cut off their toes with a kitchen knife to fit into the slipper.

Well, most people would be spotting while they spun around. (Spotting in theatre/dance means to stare at a certain spot until the last possible moment before you have to turn your head, and flicking it straight back to that spot while spinning. Sometimes it's used for pregnant people during labour so it kinda gets their mind off the pain, but us thespians/dancers just use it so we don't get dizzy lol)

There's definitely a weird tension there! It's all I could think about watching this. It almost seems like the dress transformation is a side chore because something strange is going on.

In the Disney Cinderella her dress was pink before it was blue. Her stepsister tore her pink dress up, and then her godmother made her the silver/blue one.

I watched this done live and it is the most magical thing. Its incredible! They also do a quick change where the dressed gets sucked into a chimney...its so fast! I recommend this sbow to everyone. Best stage work i have ever seen

I love the pink 😍 the dress is so sparkly and magical, I would probably feel like a princess in it

99% of the comments are saying “stop bashing the colour of the dress” I scrolled for like 15 minutes and didn’t find a single comment that was bashing the dress colour.....

I saw one the off Broadway show a little while ago I could believe my eyes during the dress transformation 😳. 10/10, the best effects in a stage play I’ve seen.

I love it, the dress is adorable and the color is fabulous.

Fun Fact: Cinderella’s dress in the animation movie was actually silver. However, when Disney started marketing them, they didn’t want people buying wedding dresses.

Lol, I'm not trying to be like terrible or anything. But when you see Cinderella, her ORIGINAL ball gown, the one she was ORGINALLY going to wear to the ball, is PINK. Then it gets ripped, then her fairy godmother comes in and gives her the magical dress I suppose, lol. Whatever color it is, it's still beautiful. I'm just pointing that out... Please dont give me hate for this comment...

Do you know that the oldest written story was about a Greek slave who married Egyptian king? Date is between 64 or 63 BC and c. 24 AD. It's about an eagle bringing her sandal to a king.
