Nope! It's a thin wired hoop! It was commonly used for little kid things and can be folded down to the size of your palm!

If you watch in slow play back speed you can kind of see the hoop unravel it seems to have been wrapped around her as if the corset goes round her midriff more than once.

It's a twisted up hoop and when it is released, can expand to a diameter of 8 to 10ft.

Yeah, it popped up for me and I thought it had to do with William Ivey Long. It didn't

the idea with the hoop being contained I think relates to how the hoop is folded-- if you see when the hoop opens up it looks like some areas are raised; it takes a bit of time before the hoop lays 'flat'. If you search up collapsible hula hoops, then imagine something like that in the dress then it could work if the hoop was cut.( idk if this makes sense when i write it out)

I honestly thought the blue part was gonna come down and that was the dress. Wasn't expecting that. Amazing!

I saw this in a stage production of Cinderella a few years ago. The actress was under a spotlight for the transformation, and she also pulled a pin out of her hair, letting it fall. The result was dazzling, and got the biggest applause of the night.

The way she looks so lovely makes her looks like the real Cinderella

Drag queens didn't invent these. Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella has the same transforming dress, nearly identical to this one (in most versions)

Very, very cool and creative costume transformation. I must agree with some others here, that the model does not seem very enthusiastic about modeling her outfit at first ("very stiff"), but, she does show more life eventually. Very neat!

I love watching cinderella backwards. It's about a spoiled princess who learns her lesson!

Okay listen, I'm gay too but this still just confuses me. Just because drag queens apparently wore transformation dresses first that means they own them? I don't see the problem of people getting inspired by a dress. And yes, I do understand what you mean as being looked upon as freaks, but it just seems so pointless to comment that on this video specifically. It's just a dress, and I'm sure that the person who made it doesn't even view gay people that way. Coming from an artists standpoint, how would you like it if you worked really hard on something just for someone to look at it and be like "this isn't original at all".
