The reason why people, who closely worked for Trump, say we dodged a bullet is that when he was last in office, he was surrounded by competent people, who understood how to manage the government. Were he elected in 2024, he would not have those competent government officials. He would upend most of what makes govt. function and prioritize loyalty to himself above all. He would ignore judicial rules he didn’t like. He would use the insurrection act to police the population, so peaceful protest would become dangerous. Just listen to his former National Security Team. All but one of them say he is completely unfit for the office and will put us in very dangerous situations as the leader of the nation. Even this former CIA agent admits he will leave the country if Trump is elected. He doesn’t say he will leave if Biden is simply re-elected. He uses a very specific term of art instead. I trust the national security professionals from Trump’s first term and the vast majority of them believe Trump is dangerous. Parsing out a conversation over what is an “existential threat” vs. a “perilous threat” just confuses listeners, imo.

The real existential threat is the border crisis which has been aided and abetted by the current president and with it the flood of fentanyl which kills 100,000 Americans a year, destroys families and has created a homeless crisis the like of which has never been seen before. And Biden has done nothing to stop it. And I'm not interested in anything an ex CIA agent has to say, given their inability to refrain from getting involved in domestic politics contrary to their purpose. If Trump is an existential threat to the CIA then I am all for it.

I do believe expats on government pensions will no longer be able to receive their pension at some point. If you haven't already, you need to come up with a secondary source of income that you can live on when that happens. I seriously looked at becoming an expat before COVID hit.

I'm in the UK so not really clued up on American politics. When people say Donald Trump poses an existential threat, what do they even mean by that? He's crass, vulgar, and self interested sure, but why does this make him more dangerous a leader for the future of the American people than anybody else? He seems to be a very insular focused President, not interested in getting embroiled in foreign wars, and he also seems very transparent in his dealings, which to me seems a lot less sinister than the underhanded things that go on in government currently. The potential for an existential threat seems to be through getting embroiled in wars with Russia or China, and I'd suggest the Democrats would want that a whole lot more.

Trump is the only president in the history of the United States who prevented peaceful transition of power. America is not a proper democracy by definition anymore, because of what happened at last transition of power. Trump now promises that he will rule as a dictator. All I’m saying to Americans don’t tell me you didn’t know, go ahead elect Trump if you wish, but don’t tell me you didn’t know what’s gonna happen. But even worse than destroying American democracy, Trump will forever, and he already did forever change relationship, relationship of US and Europe. EU does not see America as a reliable partner anymore and the more countries lose trust in America the more they will try to rely on themselves or on other powers Trump effectively made America weak, and he will make it much more weak with the second term

What it meant by Donald Trump being an existential threat is to ‘the American democracy’, not ‘the end of the country’ like the guy said. Trump actively undermines the constitution, spreads false information, and speaks provocative things (like him wanting to be a dictator for a day) that are inappropriate as the head of nation. The result/ and evidence of it is the January 6th attack. Honestly I’m really nervous him becoming a president because that will accelerate the downfall of American hegemony.

He is more dangerous for a variety of reasons, but much of it is due to his utter lack of accountability, lack of mental curiosity and his narcissism. He also spent most of his first 4 years being guided by experienced officials in the military and govt. were he re-elected that would not happen. He prizes loyalty over all. The common sense analysis is, “would you vote for a man or woman who has been indicted for a variety of crimes in 4 different states, after he’s been adjudicated as a perpetrator of rape, fined more money than most of us could ever fathom or earn, while also watching as 1/3 of his party publicly speak out against him and say, “the man is dangerous!” When it comes to War with Russia or China, tbh, most Americans from both parties want to avoid war at all cost. Though discussing the American capacity and appetite for war is a more nuanced conversation.

If we indicted Biden the list would be so much longer. I voted for Biden. I'm not conservative and I don't like Trump. I am also not propagandized by the media against him. You probably don't even know this. He was found to have committed the most egregious violations of our first amendment rights in History. Those are the judges EXACT words. Awards designed for women being given to biological men, 85k missing immigrant children!! 85k innocent children lost by Biden's administration in the Interior of the United States. The Hawaii fiasco. We are involved in two wars we don't belong in and I'm running out of time to type here. The Democrats are in collusion with big pharma (gender affirming care) Big tech and big business. 90% of democrat politicians are being paid by one of the aforementioned groups. The Biden administration has openly attacked biological women. Giving awards intended for us to biological Men in dresses. No arrests were made for making porno in a government building. This administration is a joke. Remember when they said Trumps behavior was not presidential? I agreed. So many more that will end in convictions. It's clear to me that Trump is being attacked and most of these legal cases are just election interference. I truly wish I had another option but it's crass, rude Trump or the WEF's great reset and globalization with the Democrats. Oh, and the Dems keep coming after our guns too. Pretty suspicious. Trying to manipulate or twist the 1st and 2nd ammendments is a much more serious sign of trouble to come than a few trumped up indictments and a big mouth. I think the one thing he would do is tell these governors to get these colleges and activists and rioters under control, and when they arrest them to keep them in jail, and actually charge the agitators in the ones, destroying property and assaulting, cops and assaulting, Jewish people and others and if they don’t he will initiate Martial law because I do believe that after 2020 he sick of the bull crap! What I think is that if he wins the election people are going to not just protest, but cities all over the countries are going to riot blow up stuff burn stuff and he’s gonna be put in a position where he’s probably going to have to instill some kind of temporary martial law just to get people to be where they’re safe because you can’t live in an area where that’s going on all the time. Sure there might be a couple National Guard troops on the streets in certain cities where there’s a lot of crime and anarchy, but people will go to work and live as normal but they’ll just have curfews like people can’t be outside between six in the morning and say 10 o’clock or 11 o’clock at night unless they have to go to work and it might sound bad but it’s just to keep people safe and the sad thing is the democrat governors in Meijers in district attorneys will not enforce the law by here in Virginia in Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University, They arrested six students for riding and they did it because of the way they were behaving towards Jews and then they started pushing on the police and then played the victim. The sad thing about the college students in their 18 to 30 years old is most of them don’t even know what you’re talking about especially the ones under 24 or 25 because they’re brainwashed by the radical professor

Jan 6th and the fact he is ON RECORD as calling for the termination of the constitution proves he totally hates this country and would destroy it if he could. I mean basically Trump tried to steal an election (another example of projection where he claims over and over again the big lie that the election was stolen from him when in fact it was him who tried to steal the election) to keep himself in power which has NEVER HAPPENED IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA until Trump was president. I agree with Andrew that one should leave the USA. I left the USA in 2006 and my life has been much BETTER and FREER. Better social connection, lower cost of living, more fun, friendlier girls, better dating life, better social life, better mental health, etc. Most expats who leave America never want to come back. I watched a full 2 hour interview with this guy on another podcast. He is clearly still affected by the CIA programming. Its become clear to me that the CIA doesnt recruit the best of the best. They recruit the most broken of the above average. He went deep into his up bringing and personal stuff and it was not impressive. He was recruited to the CIA for being a good liar and checking boxes well. So you can take what you want from that. The other interview was interesting in terms of training etc but he started a business using deceptive CIA tactics to help others succeed in business. The last thing we need are more lying manipulators in leadership roles in America. Its no surprise he wants Haley for president.

I must believe in this guy. He has the same hairdo my daughter has.

Biden never called for the termination of the constitution like Trump did. Biden never did a jan 6th where he tried to steal an election to keep himself in power using lies and violence (This has NEVER happened in America but is something that would be not uncommon in a fascist banana Republic). Trump is the ONLY president to be impeached twice. Trump is the ONLY president to be indicted (he has been indicted 4 times for a total of 91 felonies) but fortunately for Trump it looks like the supreme court (where one third of the justices were picked by Trump) is going to help Trump delay two of the trials until after the election so if Trump wins he can pardon himself or use the power of the presidency to kill those trials. Your bothsidism here is pathetic. Trump is an extreme outlier. There really is no other comparable president. He really is that bad.

This is a conversation of two people who think highly of themselves.

What we should be talking about is the fact that with all of the wonderfully insightful and talented, intelligent young people in America, we end up with these two as the only real choices in who will lead the nation.

I totally disagree with the title, because when Trump was president, everyone was doing better economically and in terms of safety. The whole country was better. Trump is an absolute necessity for America at this point. Everyone needs to put their political bias aside, and vote for the only man who will literally save this country.
