Hard to believe this was 8 years ago. I remember like it was yesterday. Probably because I watched this video yesterday.

People complaining about the audience not moving. You do realize that they are in front of Lauren Fucking Mayberry, right? I mean, if I had her 10 feet away from me I would probably be fucking terrified and paralyzed at the sight of such perfection. I would just be so lost in her eyes that I would probably not move during the whole thing. And then, when it's all over I would probably go home to cry myself to sleep knowing I will never encounter such a thing in my life again.

Using 'v' as 'u' in churches is ingenious. I saw them somwhere on tv and I remembered the name as churches. I googled it and a bunch of churches showed up. Lol. I did second attemp 'churches band'. A bunch of churches bands appeared! 3rd attempt i tried 'churches band female vocalist'. Failed! Then I tried to remember how I saw them on tv.. Promoting a concert in Manila. So i searched 'churches live in manila.' Success!! So it's chvrches not churches. I googled chvrches. It was all for them. :) And this is the song that I heard on tv and I'm in loved with it.

In a long time ago, late middle age, the letter "v" was the letter "u" in Latin. Curiosity is that it was in the time of catholicism, that's where the churches come from. I don't know if they wanted to relate these things.

I'm so proud of how much Lauren has evolved since then. She's MUCH more confident now, even though this is really adorable. I do like the "ancient" sound of the synths there anyway, it sounds a little different now actually when they play it live. So happy to have been part of this band's journey almost from the start. @@xshadowscreamxI think he means the equipment. They’re using some older synthesizers to produce a lot of the amazing sounds in this cut. They probably use more modern equipment now. These older synths are often preferred because they don’t sound quite the same now. It’s ironic that synthesizer sounds are now produced synthetically. You’ve been incepted.

How far they have come today. Lauren, especially, but all of the band just so very much more confident today and what a catalogue of material they have accumulated. Well done and success very well deserved.

Lauren Mayberry's voice is just so darn cute and beautiful..I can't even put it into words, and her subtle movements she makes along with her singing just adds to the performance even more, I can't help but get lost in the music and get so into it. She's extraordinary.

So many comments about the crowd. This is one of the first shows CHVRCHES ever played, many of these people haven't heard them yet. I bet a lot of you were absolutely stunned when you guys first heard this amazing band. I know I was.

Cute? Probably. Gorgeous? Definitely.

So good... I saw them live and they were amazing! Threw the bracelets I made on stage and they wore them during their encore. :))))

This band is going to go places. I can imagine them on Saturday Night Live this season. Also as an opening act for someone like Katy Perry.

Lyrically this does nothing for me. But the tune and vocals are so mesmerising, and the singer is so sweet, obviously nervous but putting out this incredible voice. I love it.

She has to be one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever laid eyes upon.

We are very lucky to have this very early gig on film, bands like this don't come around too often with a truly original sound (obviously influenced by bands from the past) the guys have an amazing sound with a beautiful lead singer with a beautiful voice.

I don't get what some of you are complaining about - I'm glad she doesn't hop/grind around like the pop tart trash on other videos. This isn't the kind of song for that. It's also nice to see a band consistently perform songs live, not adding a bunch of filler/musical jerkoff stuff. Finally, thanks to her for not oversinging it and adding a bunch of warbling nonsense. This normally isn't my kind of music (Heard this song playing on Forza Horizon 2 and LOVED it!), but I could see myself getting into it.

My buddy saw Chvrches live, he showed me a video and their concerts are WAY better than this small venue. They have insane lighting, great atmosphere and apparently a banging sound system.

That explains how she seems a little nervous for it being her second concert with Chvrches. But yeah Boyfriend/Girlfriend is pretty cool, they’re a rock band, I would say very old school emo. Can’t find much audio from them though but Lauren is actually a pretty good drummer too.

Beautiful. Quite often as I lay in bed, ear buds in. No Distractions that way. I just close my eyes and listen to this Wonderful Group and the Emotion in this Beautiful young Lady's Voice. Terrific way to Purge. Thank you Lauren.

Her stage presence has improved drastically. She was 25 here and in a brand new band in a whole new style that she wasn't used to (being a former rock drummer and not fronting a band). Now she's 33 and completely fearless being a frontwoman and a lead singer.

andreas barry Naw the description says it was their second show ever, and the real problem is that people only get excited after the band is popular, etc. Most shows, people don't know who the openers are and aren't into them at all but once the main act comes on everyone is all of a sudden freaking out. It's weird.

My girlfriend took me to one of her concerts one time and from then we’ve been to more when he had the chance. To this day I’m listening to this group.

Anthonine Alexis Well, if the discription is correct, this is their second gig. I can tell from experience that you are nervous as hell the first few times, but it really gets better (haven't sung in front of more than about 300-400 people though, but I assume it works roughly the same way). Also, she probably focuses way too much on her voice (at least that's my problem sometimes).
