Its funny because we were messing around with chatgbt when the video was being written i dont think we actually used anything from it though.

My sense of humor must be broken. I have no idea why Mega-Harry slamming into the ground and creating a massive dust cloud is so funny

Only a few minutes in, i already know this will be a banger. YT really upped their recommendation game lately.

Shout out Keira and Amanda, the teenage daughters of me neighbour who were stuck looking after me after school. They had a PS2 and this game and I played the fuck out of it. I still remember having ice blocks with Rugrats branding and then playing this game while they did their 10th grade homework and I wondered what the fuck an algebra was

Dude this was so good. Definitely earned a sub.

The fatness itself is an attribute of Unreal Engine 1 if I recall correctly, likely used for the difference in sizes for gnomes and such. As for Harry's fatness triggering all spells, devs left that in as an easter egg

23:37 I was watching a tournament that Nixxo was streaming when it was mention this tactic and wondering if any of the runners would use it. I think it was either warpless or glitchless tournament of the past year.

Fascinating, the youtube algorithm finally hit a bullseye! Absolutely loved this well researched and well written peek into the depths of insanity! I don't recall hearing it in the video, perhaps I missed it - but I'm curious as to the reason why almost all the game footage is of the swedish version? Is there a specific glitch or exploit specific to that version in particular?

Since cutscenes played during the full-game runs are unskippable, the the length of the dialogues depends on the language, and the language timed to be the fastest was Swedish. Most people have the game already installed in Swedish, and didn't bother installing a second instance. Swedish doesn't save our lose time over English in Chungus%, it's just more convenient to keep playing in it

That is the brightness bar, reloading the game while paused unpauses the game in the background and moving the brightness bar during this sends Harry into the air.

Harry Potter speedruns aren't as talked about very much they should I'm very impressed by some harry potter runs, like all 8 games on PC in under 11 hrs harry potter 4 in under 59 minutes and all 23 games in about 32 hours, and all 23 games 100% in like 3 days it's all super impressive to me.

I cant bring this game to run. Got the originam pc game. I destroyef my first mouse on the end boss. After that i startet all over again...mixed more potions and got better. I will never forget my grandpa said to my father "What is wrong with your son". Took me 20 more years to figure out that destroying out of frustration wont make me better.

Unreal engine 1 has a fatness setting. This works in HP1 as well but it doesn't cast the spells. In hp2 they decided as an easter to add the casts when harry is chonky. The devs did confirm this in an interview with Nixxo a few months ago.

is there any explanation on why does harry have a fatness variable, why it affects the character the way it does and why getting it to more than 200 makes you cause earthquakes? like, you gotta program all that in, games are not realistic simulator, much less in that era, someone went out their freaking way to make chungus harry a reality

In UE1 every given actor has a fatness attribute. As for Harry's fatness changing his behaviour, you're absolutely right. When asked in an interview by Nixxo last year, the devs specifically stated that it was left in as an Easter egg, among other things. All of it was in fact implemented and on purpose

Only at the start of the run - to set Harry's fatness. The use of debug mode after the first load (the start of the timer) is strictly prohibited

Likely has to do with the variety of thickness in different creatures, such as gnomes, pixies etc. Every single actor has a fatness value in hp2

I'm ten minutes in and melting with the smooth jazz... incredible

Should have just gotten a single narrator. The narration and voice/mic quality is all over the place.
