A bunch of big stars were invited to play and/or sing the music of Chuck Berry including Clapton, Etta James, Linda Ronstadt, etc. The whole concert and preparation leading up to it were codified in Taylor Hackford's documentary film, Hail! Hail! Rock n' Roll. I highly recommend it; it's very insightful and interesting - not to mention entertaining!

This is historic footage. Possibly THE seminal song of early rock n roll music, a song about itself (not knowing what would come of it all), performed by its progenitor on rock guitar Chuck Berry, sung by Etta James, a woman who was possibly THE top talent of black soul singing overall turning a song supposedly out of her genre into a monster performance, assisted by Keith Richards, a man whose epic career was made overseas by his love for this American song. Pretty amazing. So glad the production was up to modern standards. This will live forever.

Rest in Peace Mr. Berry and Ms. James.
I too am so pleased Keith Richards done this, as he was in the position to pay tribute to the man who, "delivered us all from the days of old... "Hail, Hail Rock & Roll... R.I.P Chuck Berry....
I wish I could have conversation like this with my Mrs.
She's flat out incredible. Chuck ain't too bad either.. Lennon said it best, if rock and roll had another name it would be Chuck Berry.

This is why I will argue, that Chuck Berry is the one and only true King of Rock.
She takes off and gets into it - big-time, and Chuck and Kieth both see it and know it. classic.
...And Blues gave birth to Rock and Roll.

I think Chuck was trying to upstage Etta by making remarks and doing his thing. Chuck didn't want her in the show.
This is genuine rock and roll and its raw roots which are blues and jazz, a Berry/James duo just outstanding , long Live rock and roll on its world day !
Ms James singing sent chivers down my spine, and up the side of my left face. I kid you not! Thanks Pedro B. !
So happy to hear Etta James and Chuck Berry playing
What can we say about this explosive hurricane-shaped woman and this absolutely unique voice that ignites our ears with that authentic rock? (And the Blues, Jazz, R&B, Soul, too ..) What can we say about this wonderful star that left us orphans of his magnificent voice? What can we say about Etta James? The words, however long that may be, never tell all about her. For now, only a terrible and immense longing in our hearts. R.I.P. Etta, we loved you my sweetheart. Forever, ever & ever

FENOMENALEEEEEEEEEEE
This concert was from a 60th birthday celebration concert put together by Keith Richards and Taylor Hackford for Chuck Berry.

Hello how are you doing?
Even at this age, just give Chuck Berry a guitar and a beat, and he could burn the stage up. And with Eta James, wow! They burned down the whole place! Wish I had been there! If time travel is ever created in my lifetime, this is the first place I’d go back to.
Etta's voice is so amazing. The right amount of power and roughness for straight ahead rock 'n roll.
I truely miss this lady. Etta James was the real deal. I love her music.
Boy Ms Etta tore that song up.
SENSATIONAL AWESOME BEAUTIFUL HEAVENLY!!!!!
