It is obvious when you hear Christian Von Koenigsegg speak, that he is not just the "figurehead" owner of a company that sits in an office and does deals. . He's also not just a "Salesman" trying to push his product. . talking the talk . . . but not delivering.. This guy know and understands EVERY tiny aspect of every nut and bolt. Every stitch of the upholstery. Every engineering specification of the motor, gearbox, suspension and bodywork. Every scientific drag ratio of the frame and exterior surfaces. Every financial aspect of production and sales. Every marketing aspect.. He is totally passionate and knowledgable about every detail of his cars. . AND he is so polite, friendly, engaging and well-spoken that he makes EVERYONE feel like his friend. He is always humble about the achievements of his company, his cars, their world records and his own success. He deserves respect...

There's an old video of Christian himself doing the paint and polishing of one of the early CCRs. Today they have the most robust paint of any supercar, 5x thicker than that of a Rolls Royce Phantom.

South Africa would be the perfect place to own one... bribe you way out of anything 😂. Spent a year in cape town and loved every minute. Kept bringing my friends over because no one would believe me when I told them how great South Africa is. They just remember the bad stuff. Drove a WV van and a 67 lambretta... great times 😁. Great people. Great food. Great wine. Great sex. Everything is cheap. Everyone is excited and having fun. I understand things have taken a bit of a turn lately but I’m sure you guys can work it out. They actually have one documentary on Netflix “Apex (a birth of a hypercar)” It was made in 2016 for the groundbreaking sport-car which was the One:1, but truly there should be a series of the whole aspect of his work, that 90 mins does not fully cover the magical and superior way of him.

Christian is legendary. The world need more people like him. Seems so down to earth!

I did watch apex too for the same reason. But of course did know about koenigsegg before. But as I am digging deeper and deeper into the brand I am stunned by the engineering mastermind that CvK is. Truly the best brand lead by the best man.

Cannot like this video enough! Unbelievable collaboration James. Absolutely knocking it out of the park, once again! Koenigsegg really is one of the most incredible car manufacturers and Christian is always so inspiring with his words and the passion he portrays! Also as a Tesla fan, I couldn't help but think about the timeline of the two companies in their infancy whilst I watched this video and it struck me when you started talking about records being broken and boundaries being pushed constantly, that this model from Koenigsegg, would have been such an inspiration for Tesla to push through their battles as an upcoming new start manufacturer and succeed. Then it was clear once I reached the segment on the Regera, just how much impact Tesla has had on CvK's train of thought to create that instant delivery sensation with a proper combustion connected audible. I love so much the engineering efforts of both these companies and Koenigsegg truly is one of the most inspiring manufacturers right now. I'm so excited to see the rest of the chronicles! There's no one better to showcase such a story. Thank you James!

I remember watching the CCX's first appearence on Top Gear, and the Stig lost control of it and sent it flying into some tires. Jeremy then went on to say that because of that, Koenigsegg took the car away and fitted a rear wing to assist in downforce, because "that was the reason for loss of control". They then brought the car back for a second time, breaking the lap record. Therefore, "Top Gear assisted in the design of the car". Only for Christian to come out and say, in actual fact, the reason for the off was because they hadn't fully prepared the cars suspension. The rear wing was just added as an after-thought. This is what I remember, but if anyone knows more, feel free to add or correct. Top channel by the way James, I wish you all the success in the world for where this is going. The last time I was this excited about car journalism was in the early days of Evo magazine, and that was 20 years ago!

The suspension setup needed fixing. The wing did help a bit, the Stig felt the body made actual lift behind the bulkheads. The power steering also failed part way (which was when he crashed when it suddenly came back on), also the brakes nearly went to the floor on Lap 1. All those issues were fixed, but it was still wild to drive. These days Koenigseggs are insanely stable - they've come a very long way in almost every parameter. Zach who owns a Regera though feels that right now all other stuff is perfect -- its the AC that isn't powerful enough, so that should tell you how far they've come. Hopefully they put a dedicated electrical compressor for it in the Gemera.

There is a car with a free valve engine but I don’t think it’s available in Europe. But there’s RAW by Koenigsegg, a design study by their design house which is a three seater using the TFG engine.

I'm a Lamborghini guy. Have been for a while. But, since the last 4 or so years, Koenigsegg has been killing it! Grant it, I'm not looking to hypercars in the Lambo world. I love the simplicity and high performance of the Hurcan Performante and now the EVO. Still, when it comes to hyper-cars, I haven't seen anyone manufacturer come close to what Koenigsegg has done and continues to do with raising the bar. It's as if they know their power, yet are humble and conscience with it. Not bullies. Christian is a TRUE car guy in that he wants to share the experience. Not just show it off. I would love to see more on the 9-speed compact gear box. Like James, I keep thinking physics and just am blown away at how phenominal Koenigsegg is with their engineering and tech. Can that happen @MrJww?

I work in Charlotte North Carolina and realize we now have a Koenigsegg dealership. It is taking all of my power to not go in there and apply for a job! I know there cannot be many people in this state that have anywhere near the passion I do for this brand. Just the most amazing cars ever!

Christian is very capable of deep and technical discussions about his products. It would be awesome to have the interviewer encouraging that by asking follow up questions, and providing his own perspective on the things that Christian is saying. In this interview it felt as though he showed up with a couple broad prompts to get Christian started, and then he didn't contribute anything further. I would love for it to become more of a conversation. I got excited when Christian asked the interviewer a question about his experience with the cars, but was disappointed when the answer was essentially "wow your car is good." Give us some insight into your experience with the car. Help us feel like we understand what it might be like to drive it. Chances are we never will have the opportunity, so help us live vicariously through you. I'm massively looking forward to the series. Congrats on putting together such a challenging project.

Calm down.. Its a joke, a play on words. Christian is short for Christ.... You following me??... Koenigsegg means King... Just an observation... Now, go away.

I once (about 10 years ago) spoke with Jesko Koenigsegg over the phone when I worked for ComHem (Swedish internet service provider) customer service. He had some issue with his Internet, don't remember the details. Anyhoo, we couldn't solve his issue fast enough and he was a bit annoyed with me, not rude in anyway, just a bit frustrated, which is understandable. He said that a stable Internet connection was very important for him, since he worked from home, so I told him "maybe you shouldn't have ComHem then". After a short silence he responded "are you serious?". After that I guess he realised the futility of talking with me and we ended the call, in a very civil manner. Since I cannot be fired anymore I would like to apologise to Jesko for having to put up with me, at a time when I really hated my job, and congratulate him on getting his name on an awesome car. He also raised an amazing son. Koenigsegg rules! :)

I really appreciate when a youtuber or a journalist talks with Christian Von Koenigsegg, because is pleasant listen to him how he explains his passion for cars. And is much more enjoyable when the chat is between Christian and JWW. Waiting for the rest of the series.

I wouldn’t normally watch a YT video longer than 20 mins but could listen to CvK for hours. Great insight into a great, innovative company and person. Loved the brand and this video. Keep them coming.

What an epic series!!! James, at some point Christian mentioned that there is a secret “aura” when it comes to track records since everyone knows they are all super fast on straight speed. He even admitted that they should market their ability to go around the track faster than anything else. Can you ask him, how come they never attempted an official Nurburgring record run? I’m sure he has thought of this is an option. After all he likes to brake records! 😉

I think it's probably for money and safety reasons. Nürburgring is a very dangerous track (few and small escape zones, as well as a lot of bumps in the road) and it's crazy expensive to go on for a proper lap record attempt.

NS is a very tricky and bumpy track and if we're being honest it's pretty ill suited to the Koenigsegg cars as they are today, they'd be fast of course but they're even faster on a more open circuit like Silverstone or Spa. Maybe they could do it but they would have hard time competing with Porsche and Lamborghini who have the VW group at their back and test there almost daily. It would take a big effort for such a small company. It's also very much a safety thing, the fastest lap records today are very much pushing things "over the limit" and that's what's required to set new lap record times. I'm not sure that Koenigsegg themselves would attempt it but in the right hands a Jesko could probably do it. Maybe a customer will see fit to supply a Jesko to a capable and experienced racing driver and make it happen.. would be interesting for sure.

Honestly? They just haven't had the time. They were going to send the One:1 to the Ring, but for a number of reasons, they could never get a full day to themselves to test, let alone go for a lap record. But CvK HAS mentioned that they're going to take the Jesko Attack to every single circuit they can, starting with the smaller tracks and building up to places like CotA and Silverstone, and then eventually to the Nurburgring.

I always love the videos where Christian explains his cars and tells his stories. I can´t wait for the other episodes to come, absolute top work james and all of the team at Koenigsegg and The Production Bunker!!
