I want to answer the question, should you use a powerful more powerful Chromebook to use for coding as opposed to a traditional laptop?

the thing about chromeos is that they have kinda unique ui and looks are very minimalistic and clean which I like the most

Loved the intro! 🔥 Awesome video as always.
Loved the vid. You also inspired me to code more :D
I appreciate your videos and would like to express gratitude to you for sharing them. If possible, could you consider creating a video tutorial specifically focused on VScode? Thank you so much in advance for your attention to this request.
I have a fairly low end chromebook that I use mostly for surfing the web but I've also done some work in VSCode building a web application and I found that I could do most things on the chromebook. The only issue was doing keyboard navigation I had to use the PC because the chromebook I have has a small, funky key layout.
As a professional gamedev I use a Chromebox or Chromebook 95% of the time, with web apps, going to the Mac only for emulator or build stuff if not doing it remotely.

Hi I want to buy a laptop but I do not have a big budget. I use visual studios to code but I've always wanted a sleek laptop for Coding something not too big...do you recommend anything. I am a student so I don't need a permanent laptop pls help
Great videos 👍, have you tried to develop flutter apps on a Chromebook? In my point of view, I need a Chromebook that can easily handle programming (powerful enough and future proof specs), but should be compact and portable (slim 13" to 14" so I won't carry my laptop everywhere) and to use it instead of my ipad or tablet for web surfing, watching movies on my bed.
This is impossible, I used Chromebook last year I never manage to have my database saved in Chromebook . I just used online version of vs code. How can you do that with a chromebook
I like the short cut key design(f1 to f5) of chromebook, it allows me to control the laptop very fast
Now this is something I was asking past night. Interesting

Hey, Adrian can you make a video that how will you learn to code if you have to start over
@kartik-k
Жыл бұрын
You should try to learn from official documentation before referring to a yt video focus on one language for base than learning other language required to build the application you want. Long coding sessions, not using any AI extension or until you know basics atleast and most important never try to learn 100% of any language
I do a lot of work in Delphi RAD Studio, so I cannot work on a machine that does not run Windows, or else I would have to emulate my software. However, nice vid!
Adrian is not only a developer, but also a designer, this make you standout. Most developers are not good at design, art, etc. 😢

what if the internal storage is only 32GB and uses an Intel Celeron N4020, is it worth it for coding?
@SimonBauer7

32gb isnt enough. the celeron isnt great either but for small projects will do.
You probably know it already but you can set up your chromebook to switch by itself between wifi and your phone data. If wifi is unavailable and it will switch without you noticing
The long answer is no, I have a chromebook and tried several times and everytime at some point the vm fails and doesn't start anymore. So not stable at all. It needs work.

I hate chromebook! But Linux environment is easy to set up and use so .... I use that for coding but mine is old still works good tho

I think that this video was called: "I tried programming on a more powerful Chromebook". It doesn't really matter.
It's a good device, till you find it's a 600 $ laptop with 8gb and 128gb storage with i3. This looks expensive than a laptop with 8gb and i5/ryzen 5 with 256 to 512 gb storage. At least 256 gb is essential. Although yes it's is cool to have a 16 inch display with touch screen bcz thats the half of budget going, But rest of the specs are not that good. Go for it if touch screen and chrome os are essential for you.
seems like all they do is remove the cheapest part, the hard drive
This is a powerful laptop, mine is a $300 USD laptop 😅

Should You Code on a Powerful Chromebook? No you shouldn't, just buy a decent apple device, don't pay for experiments, which may not be supported in a couple of years and have low resell value (if any).

@BroonParker I've had phones last years. And I know people who replace iPhones and MacBooks for no reason at all. There's no difference between high end android and pc stuff and the apple equivalent beyond price. And you have far more choice once you step out of the bubble.
Wipe that shit and put linux on it. Chromebook is cool and has its use cases but for programming it needs to be wiped and Linux needs to be installed. Don't run alongside or whatever garbage chromebook allows you, just ditch it entirely. Oh and depending on your chromebook it can be pretty frustrating to wipe the boot and instill a linux distro.
