I love roaring out this song when I'm cuttin the lawn.

When you leave your home life there freezes in your mind later when you make back home youre shocked that life went on without you… this song paints that lonely feeling of missing home to a T

I am struggling to find this version and it looks like i may need to do the piece of paper and a pen , stop start routine ! But it will be worth it as this is for me the only version and most certainly as it was written long ago by that poor man remembering his home town and friends now lost and replaced by the Californian Heat, Dust and Toil !

@@martingriffin2967 Have a good look around Lad. Take your head out of the sand fella, and have a peek at our education system, That will surely open your eyes. Think about our immigration policy...we don't have one. Whatever The EU Commission dictates to the middle management that calls itself a Government it accepts without question. But if you are happy to be a "unit of Labor" controlled by an unelected EU Commission then so be it. I rather be a citizen of a republic a country that I call home and not a region of this Dreadful EU project.
