@@Wade-1 i still think they are good, grown ups 1 and 2 were both great movies imo. he leans more into his personal type of humor now and days because they are made my him most of the time. he is also a very underrated serious movie actor. reign over me is one of my favorite serious movies of al time personally and if u havent seen it i suggest u do but be ready to be emotional

I interviewed Christopher McDonald about 20 years ago (for SLC Punk) but I had to ask about Happy Gilmore while I had his ear. He said he'd never played golf, didn't want to be stereotyped as the "jerk" but figured he could have fun with the character. Oddly, I think this role will be the one he's most remembered for.

Great guy, I met him a few times working a door in Downtown LA ( he was friends with the owners). Always very nice and respectful. Never acted pretentious, or threw his weight around.

The best line in the movie

My friend saw him in airport and said "hey, Shooter"... Christopher turned around and said "Don't ever call me that ". He walked a few steps, turned and did the pew, pew thing with both hands and smiled. How cool is that?

His reactions to gilmores comebacks in the movie are gold

I met him when I lived in Hawaii in 2005 and he was on vacation. He was really cool and seemed to really enjoy and embraced the “Shooter” character. Naturally we exchanged a few Shooters, with the finger guns.

If they made a "Shooter" McGavin movie, I would be first in line to watch it.

One of my best memories is watching Happy Gilmore with my dad and my brother. The three of us laughed so much.

Shooter needs his own movie: MacGavin!

That movie is one of the first movies I remember laughing so hard that I teared up. The first time he loses his mind over, not making the putt and he’s on live TV was one of the funniest things I had seen at the time.

The fact that his “SHOOOTA” lines are improv is absolute gold and makes it that much funnier. Plus the 5th try with the 32 footer putt 🤣🤣🤣 I can only imagine the crew betting. “CHOKE ON THAT BABYYYYY” I just lost it

Down Periscope is pretty good, but yeah Happy Gilmore is even better for sure. So you got a heck of a consolation prize, heck the other hasn't been mentioned nearly as much in the years that have followed despite the talent and laughs in it.

Fact I'd say it's actually pretty funny it's just when compared to happy Gilmore and going in with ZERO expectations it was just such a nice surprise when movies used to catch u off guard. I don't even remember seeing commercials or ads anything for happy Gilmore

He makes the movie! Villains are critical and he plays one of the best all time!

I still can't picture his face without hating him...and he's a sweetheart.

I can remember him on an episode of Cheers as a young pitcher coming to Sam for advice, as well as in the Robin Williams movie remake of "Flubber".

Hell yeah shooter one of my favorite characters he was awesome great movie

I met Chris MacDonald when he played Billy Flynn in Chicago. A group of my friends and I went up to him at the stage door to get his autograph. He asked where we were from and we said, “Long Island.” And he says, “Oh Lawng Island. I’m from there too.” Nicest guy ever!

His cameo in the new Beverly Hills Cop movie is pure, 100% gold!

He is also Kent Mansley who works for the government. 😁

My favorite role of this actor was Lt. Castillo from ST:TNG episode "Yesterday's Enterprise." I was so accustomed to him playing jerks/villians but I really enjoyed him as a hero.

The Best Golfer Ever! SHOOTER MCGAVIN! LOL. Thank You, Christopher McDonald, for helping make this movie so memorable over the ages.

I used to frequent a strip bar called the Drake in Vancouver, BC which has long since been torn down. The movie was mostly shot in the Vancouver area. The doorman Frank has a line in the movie "Happy the gold jackets yours shooters gonna choke!" I ran into him a few weeks after I saw the movie and said I saw him in it. He pointed out that a guy who was also in the movie was sitting right at the bar in front of me. It was the dwarf who rides the tricycle in the dream scenes in the movie!! We couldn't believe it and had a few drinks with the guy. Good times.

You guys should see this man at Bills games....Shooter comes to life lol.

He literally became Shooter McGavin! Such an iconic performance.

This is one of the most under rated movies of all time! Shooter(Chris) is just a perfect heel! his timing is spot on, Adams responses make for comedy gold! I wish it got more accolades than it does
