And IRL he seems to be such a nice guy! Really blows your mind how he embodies this villain character so well while actually being this jovial, laid-back, unpretentious funny character. People like Gene Hackman etc, they were great villains, because they really played themselves pretty much. They were intense, scary people even off camera. But Wilson, he makes you laugh bigtime. I've seen some of his stand-up here and there, and it's all solid, fun stuff. Whatta guy! :)

Never heard about Eric Stoltz till now, but thought right away, on first viewing in theater in 1985 (and on many later viewings) that film no. 1 is a triumph of ensemble acting. Everyone is perfect and they work together perfectly. There is one big flaw in the trilogy as a whole though: Marty McFly's girlfriend is treated as dead weight in film 2; she's parked and left to sleep in an alley near the start, and picked up there near the end. I think no. 2 could've been a lot better if a real part had been written for her. But then 1985 is not 2018, maybe especially in terms of women getting more like their fair due.

makes me think of two things: firstly, once upon a time in hollywood. one of the things mentioned in that is how being a villain all the time keeps you cast as villains, and you never really breakout or become popular because you're only ever seen as a villain. this makes them always smaller-time roles and more relatable people as a result. secondly, the people who are most likely to take a villains role are those humble enough to not feel too personal about it. you're unlikely to get egotistical actors who see themselves as some golden boy or heroic and stoic figure, because they are taking a step down to portray themselves in such a negative light.

I think it took a lot of guts for Tom Wilson to talk about some of these things. The insecurity of the job, the real fear that they would let him go. He earned even more respect from me for talking about this. I think it was for best that Michael J. Fox was brought into the film and our 3 heroes (Marty, Doc, and Biff) really made that film series! Remember guys -- this year is the 35th anniversary of the original Back to the Future. They already announced a new 4K Blu ray set is being released. If you just want deal with regular Blu ray, that set is already out in 3 editions -- 2 standards sets released a few years apart and a steelbook Blu ray set of all 3 films exclusive to Wal Mart. My guess is the 4K release will probably have all the old extras and hopefully some deleted scenes we might not have seen before. I doubt we'll ever see much of Eric Stolz in any B2F material for legal reasons...

No way you could fire Tom Wilson. He nailed that role. People don’t realize how 99% of actors (even a listers like Pitt and DiCaprio) just play themselves every movie. It takes way more skill to create a new persona like Tom did with Biff.

In a movie of great actors he's probably my favorite character because of how well he's acted. You absolutely and immediately hate him, but because of how his character acts, not because the character is annoying or anything off-putting. Only a brilliant actor can make such a character happen.

Absolutely loved the BTTF trilogy. Everyone involved made them the success that they've become. This may sound bad, but I'm glad Eric Stoltz got fired, and Michael J Fox replaced him. Talking of baddies, Christopher Lloyd was also in my favourite film, One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest, where Louise Fletcher played the nasty Nurse Ratchet, but in real life, like Tom Wilson, was an amazing woman, actress and human being.
